Europe-only 'Honda Concerto TD', YEAH M8, HONDA DIESEL ENGIN IN THESE INNIT, NONE OF THAT ROVER SHIT, SAME ENGINE AS A NISSAN XSARA

I am guessing it's a Puegeot/Citroen Engine, like the Rover had ? Maybe? Lucas DPC pump, Garrett Turbo, what's not to like ?

Correct, it is just a re-badged Rover 218 turbo diesel.

Look at this beauty.

Used to have one like this. Actually not bad to drive but constructed out of the cheapest possible materials. The dashboard was made of the same quality plastic as the crates you see full of vegetables at a market. Everything worked with push buttons that you could pull off and swap round. It used to hack Mrs Misfit off when i did that. She would want to put the heated rear window on and the wipers would come on came on instead.... and the alloys were porous so you had to pump the tyres up every few days.

I remember taking it down to our works office in London. My boss was there "Oh great you can give me a lift back to Manchester" he said. When he saw it he said "It's OK I'll get the train" Snob!!

Sold it for a Polo breadvan.

This Carlton looks promising - it's on a 3 day no reserve auction, low miles, history, new cambelt etc and currently at £185.  Could be a bargain.

MOT history is remarkably clean - but advisories at the last one:

Inner Front Track rod end ball joint dust cover deteriorated, but preventing the ingress of dirt (2.2.C.1c)
Exhaust emits black smoke during acceleration (7.3.A.2c)
Oil leak

I have seen that delightful adapted brown Metro in the flesh/rust (there surely can't be two of those in Cardiff).  I remember being quite taken by the apparently random selection and variation of the styles of window fitted to it. I'm surprised the vendor didn't also say ideal for boot sales, as that is where I have seen it.

As much as like Aerodecks this looks somewhat optimistic with a £500 start, 262k on the clock and doesn't run, oh and it's a bit rusty:

I probably should have put it in the bargains thread ...

In the good old days of the early 1980's, most Minis looked like this and all you need was some air in the tyres and a bent tax disc and you were pretty much left alone.

You've just reminded me of my best tax disc ever. It was 1983 and came on a Capri, all the writing was completely faded and was used on at least 6 cars over a few months. It bit the dust when I had to fill it in whilst queuing for a roadside check on Battersea Bridge one Chelsea Cruise night In a dodgy as fuck 67 Impala. Filled the MOT in at the same time!
