Been offered this for £900. Hobby car of an OCD garage owner who maintains Embassy 4x4s, so I reckon very well maintained.  '69 or '70 and RHD. £900. Snag is it's in Botswana. But that means rot free. If this is the dream car of a regular I can help with buying/storing/shipping. You could have this in the UK & registered for £2,500 to £3,000. post-18080-0-57763200-1448614793_thumb.jpg

I'm always amazed by these 'dealers' who think they can make a 100% profit for doing absolutley nowt. Why would anyone give them £8000 for that Rover when they could have bought it at a well-attended and publicised public auction a few weeks eralier for half that? Then they say 'we are sellling this vehicle for light recommissioning' well why don't you do some of that recommissioning and get it roadworthy or something? Add a bit of value to it FFS, give yourself a chance at least. Finally that advert is impossibly lame with almost no information about the car apart from a chunk of text straight off Wikipedia that tells you nowt about this particular example. Verdict: RUBBISH

Check out the Rover dudes other motors. £4k Horizon and whatnot, what a plum.

Light recommissioning in dealer speak for no brakes, oil like treacle, requires 10 sq yd of steel and 3 rolls of mig wire

I was at the auction for the Rover and its friends. My hands were kept firmly in my pockets by the fact that they were complete nails. Baddly bodged and in need of full restoration. Avoid like the plague...

What happened to the spare black fabric interior we had?

In storage. But you couldn't ruin that beautiful 2000 with black boxpleat!

Looking at the state of it maybe it's on agricultural tax, I know you can do that with Land Rovers, not sure about SAABs! More likely it's disabled, the tax class not the car.

Edited to add: it seems you can apply for limited use tax for any vehicle. You are not allowed to travel further than 1.5 km on road and have to show proof of where your land is. No fee and no MOT required, you can also run on cherry- although not in this case.
