That Princess thing is fucking odious. Looks like the unholy alliance of a Ford Corsair, Asquith van and 100E. Luckily you balanced the post with a rather lovely saloon with division (optional extra on both 3 Litre and 4 Litre R, I believe). I bet RR rued the day they ever flogged BMC that lump.

The RR-VP thingy is actually worryingly close to what might have been - the Rolls-Royce Rangoon, based on that paragon of luxury and good taste, the Austin 3-litre.

It looked a bit naff as a Rolls-Royce but the Bentley version is pretty decent. I suppose they were a bit worried about diluting the brand or whatever they'd have called it then.

I didn't know about that Java thing, that's well interesting. They did another Java in the late 90's on a 5 series floorpan did they not???
