$_57.JPGI much prefer this 240 to the red one, I used to have it's bro in gold. Strangely drawn to it. Portsmouth customs liked it too, I got the undivided attention of 8 of their finest for an hour including threatening to cut the sills off. They didn't.

I remember driving a D reg Freight Rover 16 seat minibus that had the Landrover diesel engine in. that was even slower.

Yep, would agree with that - I had a spec lift Freight Rover with the L-R diesel, and it wouldn't pull 5th gear with a car on the back.  Hopeless.

has anyone here ever used a car everyday without a heater?

Yes, some where it has been disconnected because of leaks and some where they didn't have one. The 1937 Morgan didn't have one (or a roof), but at least you could fold the winscreen flat to stop it misting/icing up.

I did replace it once in mine. It's actually much easier than many people on the internet claim it is.

This was quite a common conversion a few years ago IIRC. I seem to recall seeing a few of these done. Agreed though its a little like jumping out for the frying pan and into the fire.

Who ever bid it to £2000 last time didn't think the Monza was hot enough to actually collect.

Monza sorta hot, but stretched tyres and PHAT TUNES YO have got my tosser-detector antennae twitching.
