no idea about the bike, but i suspect the local dibble would frown on me hoofing it through the pedestrian shopping centre in a cloud of fumes.

first thoughts were barbq and wheelie bin. I can't help but think that motorising them would improve my life imeasurably

I'm amazed how many people manage to just completely lose keys and log books for cars.  I'm equally amazed at how poor the general public are at identifying a car properly.

It'd help if car manufacturers started writing their name and the model of the car somewhere on it.  Some place where it was clearly visible and perhaps if they could all put it in the same place for consistency.  Maybe on the back somewhere.

Even when they do, a surprisingly large number of people is too daft to copy it correctly (e.g. there is no 'e' in Camaro, no 'a' in Opel, and no 'c' in Rekord). This puzzles me all the more on Ebay, where you select the make and model from a dropdown menu.

But I agree with you in so far, as a number of manufacturers nowadays don't bother with their name and only put the logo of their Freemasons lodge on their cars. Since for the past 20 odd years I rely on actually reading what is written on a car in order to identify it, this finally makes it impossible for me to tell which car is what, so I have given up on it for quite some time now. I just can't be arsed anymore.

Someone should buy that Civic and bring it to shitefest so we can have a Civic/Acclaim shite off.

That does look a reasonable price for a sporting RWD Ford with a full ticket. Go on, you know you want to.

Older and newer BMW's get a lot of slating on here and I am now thinking I have been majorly lucky with the three BMWs Ive owned and maybe I should sell my current E46 pretty damn quick before its goes wrong. Perhaps that is why Ive never won the lottery because all my good luck is used up with the cars I buy? I dunno.

I don't know it either and I'm not slating anything, unless it's a VW. All I am saying is that all BMWs I had were total disasters and I have never had to throw that much money at any car before or since, unless I did a full restoration. They weren't the worst cars I had, during the brief periods they were not held ransom in a garage until an eye-watering repair bill was paid, they were quite enjoyable, and I do mean it. I'm just unsure whether I have the courage and the bank balance to make another foray into BMW ownership. I say, I certainly posted enough BMWs in this very thread over time, that nobody can accuse me for not having a hidden fondness for them.

Outbid.  Quietly relieved.

You've spelt  'sober now, absolutely ecstatic' wrongly.
