CortinaDave Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 This corker ends tonight. I'd better lay off the Old Peculiar later otherwise I can see what's going to happen. Shame about the massive dent in the driver's door and other assorted bumps. cav 1.jpg http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1989-VAUXHALL-CAVALIER-CDI-AUTO-BLUE-ONLY-35K-MILES-FROM-NEW-NO-RESERVE-/221584427803?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3397760b1b#ht_1119wt_1141I think I might have a bid on this...

For that reason, I'm in. Seller's opening bid isn't too optimistic based on it being a one-off and the slow rise in value of Jaguar's most confused model. For that reason, I probably would. Junkman 1
cort16 Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 There seems to be a fair few different (and shite looking) car built on the XJS even though with most of them it's completely obvious what's underneath.
cyruspower Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I remember reading somewhere that the entire original XJS body still exists under the Railton panels. It must weigh slightly less than a proton star..... Will try and rummage through Google for the article.
cyruspower Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Here ya go: "Adam says:May 11, 2014 at 10:54 amThose were the only two cars made, I remember the maroon one as a friend of mine bought it along with the bodywork jigs plus the rights to build them. Was purchased from William Towns widow. Also I remember the car being accident damaged years ago and we found it was actualy a complete Jag underneath with the Aluminium panels tacked on top.Lovely car to drive although it felt massive when you sat inside. Mr_Bo11ox Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 That cav is ace. Is it a 4-dr or 5-dr? Its patently obvious its a 5-dr, if you are not looking at it on a windows phone which only shows you one pic. Fucking phones!!!
Skizzer Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C543937 would look pretty cool lowered i want this car to go to a good home Make your mind up, mate. wuvvum, Rusty_Rocket, trigger and 12 others 15
RobT Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 As the Cav description says, it's a car of two halves. 35k and clean interior but christ knows what the old giffer has done to get all those dents. Although ignition barrel is fooked so it may have been stolen previously or something.
Skizzer Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 This early Allegro looks pretty tasty, at least from this distance. It even almost gets away with the black number plates. http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C554877 Reluctantly selling my lovely 1974 Austin Allegro 1.3 due to 3rd baby on the way Subtext: drive this car and get laid a lot. oman5, Junkman, Alexg and 9 others 12

CortinaDave Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Really tempted to bid on that cav - i have a mate who could sort the dents out for next to nothing and I reckon itd be a nice winter blagger. Seller insists on pickup mon-fri 9-5 only though and within 3 days which would be tricky for me. london's only a £40 flight away, but I could only do the weekend, and id probably need 7 days window. Hmmm Who ended up with the similar one that was on here a few months back for £150?
Cavcraft Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Crumbs, Chief! Look at the number plates on that Cavalier. Big money though. mouseflakes 1
