HereHareHere Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Scientists and retired harbour masters alike now agree that there is no better way to kick off the weekend than with a "V6" eBay search. Check out this crazy-ass 3.8 Holden "ute"! Mind you a grand seems a bit cheeky when it's been "standing for approx 12 months" and "has a slight knock/rattle". http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1990-HOLDEN-P ... 2ec715f40b
vulgalour Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I sold this quicksharp recently because I needed it gone. For that reason, I settled for much less than its worth. Looks like the new owner is set to make a profit if the winning bid pans out and I wish him the best of luck with it. I guess the engine wasn't right for his Mini after all. Currently £300 with about 2 seconds of tax left on it and an MoT until August, I originally paid £450 and it's probably worth about £400 as it stands. Kinda weird seeing it up for sale, I fully expected it to get squashed.
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Car's nothing special but I'd like a garden like this:
willswitchengage Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 ,I am selling due to needing the money to start up my clothing business and move to california

It's always a bit crap when this happens, I sold a car on ebay once and the buyer re-listed it the next day and sold it for more with a shit description. Meh.

It's always a bit crap when this happens, I sold a car on ebay once and the buyer re-listed it the next day and sold it for more with a shit description. Meh. Think how I felt when I honestly described my (much more than it's got now) 40-50k Renault 11 with a broken passenger seat, brakes that only worked on the rear nearside and catastrophic rust that'd put a poorly maintained Metro to shame... He wobbed up the front wings, didn't touch the rear arches (which on the GTL Premiere are covered by plastic cladding), knocked 20k miles off of it and it's now up for £1995 after I sold it for £300 (which was more than it was worth!) All that and I left my Sting and the Police cassette in the radio!
phil_lihp Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Since we've already got a motorbike on this page, I think a genuinely shite one might be OK. I'm after my first motorbike as it's now been a year since my CBT and I still haven't actually got a bike. After several days of looking at sensible but distant and ancient CG125s (as recommended by someone on this forum) in various states of disrepair, I widened my search and found this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2012-AJS-JS-125-E2-BLUE-/261186681904?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item3ccff07c30 Turns out it's a Yamaha YBR clone (kind of handy as I did my test on a YBR) - British assembled but appears to be Chinese built. Can't find much info but general consensus seems to be they're actually OK, better than a lot of Chinese knockoff crap but parts can be tricky. Given it's going to sit a few yards from the sea on my driveway most of the time, this seems a slightly better option for lemonade money, will have to see how high it goes. And it's in my town so I can walk it home instead of forking out £££ for shipley on aforementioned CG125 rustiness.
AeroNautiCal Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Pop along to an AJS get together and make lots of new mates...
vulgalour Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 @AlsoMike & Ben L: I'm not that fussed, that car was the most uncomfortable car I've ever driven thanks to the stupid later seats it was equipped with and I never clicked with it, the extra cash would've been nice but I think the BX I now have is a better car in every respect so I don't car it was sold for less than it should've when I parted with it. It's not like the beige (with brown vinyl roof) Mk2 Escort Dad somehow talked me out of buying for £50 as my first car when I was 16, I'm still bitter about that.
phil_lihp Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Pop along to an AJS get together and make lots of new mates... Having wiki'd them, I'm guessing it would be tantamount to turning up to a Jag Owner's Club meeting in one of these.
Cavcraft Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 And it's in my town so I can walk it home instead of forking out £££ for shipley. Get used to this, it'll be good practise for the 3 out of 4 times you use the bike.
phil_lihp Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Yes, I'm aware I may be taking a risk here, I'm betting on a) the price staying very, very low and it being more Yamaha than Chinese knock-off.
catsinthewelder Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 One of those spends it's days in the bicycle rack outside work, I didn't realise it came with the AJS stickers from new
phil_lihp Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Back to kwality cars, have this, for no other reason than it seems to be an unusual spec and I like the colour. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROVER-620-Ti-600-2-0-TURBO-ORIGINAL-CAR-JULY-MOT-5-DAY-AUCTION-NO-RESERVE-SALE-/200908961584?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2ec71b7730 Sadly it appears to be knackered, blown turbo & potential gearbox issues.

phil_lihp Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 If anyone was genuinely interested in that Horizon, it's just round the corner from me so I'd be happy to check it out. I've seen it around and it certainly looks very clean. I can't see it being particularly improved by having its springs chopped - fingers crossed it gets a sympathetic new owner.
