Fitting £300 new tyres is a bit nonsensical too, like this is going to drive again soon...

Pre accident surely??  Price is so crazy, quite likely it’s unrepairable, so for spares only.

Man owns Belmont for many years, then crashes in a ditch as if he's a 17 year old joyrider. What a shame, looks like a nice spec...

1986 Vauxhall Belmont 1.8 GLSi

Top of the range!

Even without the accident damage, there seem to be other issues that make the £5k asking price optimisitic:

Presumably the "cyberman" alloys are worth something?

The item description on that listing is worth a read.  Not sure if the seller is taking the piss or just extremely deluded.

" I can provide the location of the ditch in Belgium where the driver's mirror and orange side indicator cover may be found."

It's only (currently) 9.25am and that listing has had 1,641 views already. Must be a lot of people needing a laugh today.

Yeah you're right, I assumed it was crashed years ago and then sat, but judging by the mot history this was on the road until last year at least!

This is a guy who keeps the original battery "as a spare" for 40 years and knowns the exact month and day he had to buy a new one 19 years ago, I think he might be serious....

Quote

18 Spare bulbs, original fuel gauge sender with replacement box, original throttle valve switch. I left the battery, headlights on during a foggy day as I visited a friend. That flattened the battery. I walked to a nearby service station and bought an Exide Excell EB602, the largest that would fit (12/04/2007). The original Bosch was kept as a spare but never used again. It's possible, although unlikely, it will still hold enough charge to start the engine.

Very tempting but almost seems too cheap? Great layout though.

Agreed, very cheap and it's MASSIVE. I would consider going to a music festival again if that was my accommodation.

If it was a genuine ad then that's mega cheap - £4K around here for a cheap coachbuilt late 1980s anything :-(
Maybe diesel is double the price in Prestwick?

[edit] - it's out of MOT by two years - failed on needing some welding (and other stuff) but every other Ducato that age needs a tickle with sparkly stick - ours is a 2013 job with v. low mileage and it's already had some cleaning/derust/paint on the front jacking points - they're cheap platform cabs for a reason ?

Soz, cat stood on keyboard.

Yea they took half the engine to bits then it caught fire and its nothing to do with what they did, its the battery suddenly deciding to spontaneously combust.  Fucking amateurs!
