No it really isn't! The olds 350 diesel that caddy has is one of the worst engines of evah. I'm amazed to see one still running, frankly- this boat anchor was directly responsible for the septics long term avoidance of diesel POWAH.

Partly true, the early ones were dire but the later ones, and presumably any that are running in the 21st century are alright.

The Seppos get their pants in a twist about it being based on a "gas engine" but petrol engines are the basis of most European passenger car diesels.

This Acclaim looks mintaloola, but the rear window sticker removes eleventy billion from its value:

I quite like Acclaims, but don't want to own one, and £2,450 seems steep even for a good one.

I can't stand Acclaims - they felt old and baggy even when they were brand new - and £2450 is just taking the piss. Mark II Escorts, for example, are silly money but at least they were really good when they were new.

Lol really?

Have to agree; after the Dolly the Acclaim must have been a bit of a let down for the Triumph lickers!

This looks pretty damn clean irrespective of the very mild Barrying.  He's going to chuck in the original TXE wheels anyway if you're not down with the kids.

Laugh Of The Year, and it's only January.  That's going to be hard to beat!

I drove them new.  There's no way on earth I'd buy one, and especially not at Bentley money.

Two electric windows don't work, boot won't open, air bag light is on and the blower only works on 1to3. The hand brake cable is also broken and there is a bump on the rear wing as shown It has no MOT. Apart from that it's a good car.

Next stop Hotpoint washer dryer

Yes, I drove them new as well. They were good cars at the time - I had two - and were certainly better than their contemporaries. As I said before, the prices are nuts, but to my mind they're better value than the utterly miserable Acclaim

We had a punter come in with one of these needing a Cat. £1500 from Fiat and no pattern parts available. She was in tears....

There's plenty of them in scrappies now though.

These used to be a bit too much small town night club bouncer for my liking but they're starting to look pretty good now.

They're getting fugging expensive too.  About five years ago I almost bought a mildly tuned twin turbo manual which ended up selling for just over £1200.  I reasoned at the time that I didn't need it as I'd just bought a Stagea and didn't need two fast Nissans.  A decision I've regretted many times since then.

That one isn't too expensive but I suspect it's a bit crumbly.
