12 Tickman? Well played, sir.

Jim has now been paid. Aldo's numbers were assigned to OhDearMe, and Supernaught's to Cavcraft. All payments successfully collected, and now it's just for Mr Tickman to arrange a visit to the south again.

Thanks for playing!

Oh, and my kids are still up, covered in toast, and wanting more car videos.

Congratulations, now that Mr. Bell is running out of cars to sell I'm wondering what will be his roffle for next week?

Posted

I've literally just asked him "same time next week"

Next one round here might be my MGF.

Dent on bonnet, dent on drivers front wing.

Drivers side rear door doesn't lock/unlock with central locking.

Lots of scratches, some touched up badly.

Paint fade on spoiler/roof/bonnet.

Looks to run hot on the gauge but fan kicks in as it should and there's no overheating. It's been said that they all do that sir. Clutch slips a little bit if you're really aggressive with your gear changes. Bites fine and operates fine under regular driving conditions. Has bogged down a bit and tried to die twice since I've had it. Both times has been just after start up and I've caught it with the throttle and gave it a bit rev and then it's been fine after that. Bought new HT leads but not fitted.

the idiot book shows "normal" as the bit between the 2 arrows shown below!

I've not seen it move outside those parameters, but I don't understand cars and found that aspect unnerving.

Oh, right!

Ok then. Saves me £5. Sorry about that, wasn't around at the time.

Ah man- I'll have to pin my hopes on the Omega now! I really fancied this.

Oh, I missed this one.

Wow!

Is that a good wow?

Or has Mrs Tickman grabbed your gentleman's agreement when she found out you had won?

She didn't find out until this morning and no issues to report.

Well I've been a bit worried about the little AX. I thought the fuel gauge must be iffy because it got to half a tank on the way back from Wellingbrough and then just stopped there. I'd done 300 miles so thought I must be getting near the end of the tank. Decided to go and fill up to see what the craic was.

The car very occasionally spluttered too. Which is a puzzler. It's apparently had new plugs, leads, coil, fuel filter, among other things so not sure what it could be (cap or arm maybe?)

Remembering I had a gift card in my wallet from a few cyristmasses ago, I thought why not try a bit of snake oil.

To the bicycle assembly shoppe!

Armed with the bottle of lies, I went and filled up the tank.

Holy shit. Well it really was on about half a tank then. Wonder how the maths work out?

What the fucktoilet?

61 mpg?!

Is that possible?

Checked my maths and the odo and can't think what else would be wrong. Over 298 miles, it seems to have averaged over 60 miles to the gallon.

As I can't help myself when it comes to rubber carpet coverings, I've also splashed out (not literally) on some Citroen mats.

Now they're no Mini Cooper S floor mats, but they're funky enough.

Now that I've added about 30 percent to the value of the car by filling it with petrol and putting new floor mats in, I think it's time to think about security.

I'd like to see any sneak thief get past THIS Thatcham non-approved novelty period correct security device.

And just so they know who they're fucking with.......
