Baffling, wonderful but baffling.

But you have to be tempted to drive past the original tester, slowly, waving, and tooting in a friendly manner.

One or two fingers?

And before anyone complains about being out of pocket, they will get their donation back if they require it.

Has anyone? I think we’d all be happy for it to go to website funds, or failing that your local favourite charity.

I've also had a look around the rest of the car for the mot fails and can't really find anything wrong with it apart from a small amount of corrosion on the front brake lines.

I am tempted to try getting it finished before Friday and in for an mot at my usual place.

If the two weeks aren't up, I'd take it to the same tester and ask that you want to go to the authorised MOT viewing area and watch. Should put the wind up 'em with them thinking you are a man from the ministry.

The sills and floorpan are standard. It's not a full convertible and retains some roof structure and a cross brace and as such it doesn't suffer from any skuttle shake. They are a bit like a superannuated 2cv.

Just read this from beginning to end, and if Monsewer Oeuf would kindly pm his paypal deets I'll bung a Godiva over.

Top work Sir Knight of Shite, bearer of the Sparkly Sword, sending a virtual square sausage and tin of McEwans. (Other racist stereotypes are available).

If they take it back can we have a live handing over ceremony a la Car SOS. With backing music of your choice.

You should at the very least introduce them to this place. They sound like they'd fit in, or at least understand the place.

This. You should do the handover at U Pull it, while someone in the background sings Elton John The Bridge.

I've seen the bridge, and the bridge is long

But foad fixed the Visa, and he built it strong

Strong enough not to be weighted in this  time

Long enough to leave some of old sill behind.

Even the end bits look the same. Visa predates Fav by a few years obviously. I've just taken one off to see if it had Citroen logos on it but sadly not. A few numbers but no other markings.

If only i had some spare time before Christmas. would love to go all two bucket wrong un on this and machine it up.

Talking of two bucket wrong un , I saw a circular  mesh thing in Eurocarparts that goes in the bucket ..so all the grit on the dirty sponge,  falls through to the bottom of the bucket ,keeping the sponge reasonably clean .I didn't buy one , as I don't wash my motors very often .

Well Fav development started in 1983 (according to Wiki, and I've seen similar elsewhere) so the Visa wasn't that old then!

Grit guard - you aren't a regular on DetailingWorld then, I take it?

Yes I have one of those in my bucket. Its annoying as it means you can't use all the soapy water right to the bottom of the bucket. Pretty sure it exists solely to try and force people into two buckets. But oh no, I'm not falling for that one! I am very a one bucket sort of guy.
