I've found my tent exactly where I left it.

It's been up in a barn loft for around three years. Probably not been used for over 15 years.

Suppose I'd better check it for mouse holes next weekend. If it's raining it'll get it's first outing on the 7th...

Still haven't taken the tent out of the shed yet. Too drizzly.

Sure it'll be fine.

It's going to be a spectator sport watching all these tents be assembled with hope and prayers...

No tenting for me, Chateau le Frontera.

I wouldn't pitch or park next to me coz I apparently snore at 98db.

Especially when I've had a few*

I will be having a few* ,I'll be bringing some cheap booze from France.

Amongst the booze will be pastis, bring a glass if you want to join in with an apperative or two*

I wouldn't say no to a shot of pastis, please, thank you, merci.

I'm still not definite for this but currently my only legal and running vehicle is the Cherokee, so about erm, £130 or so in pez for the roundtrip. On the plus side, I think it's big enough for me to kip in.

I will bring a very nice, very limited edition and very cask strength single malt to keep the pastis company!

On the plus side I test erected my teepee last night and it was still intact, lets see how it survives 3 nights of full occupancy in Wales.

I'm still hoping to be in attendance but will be a sorry sight with 3 kids and a mk2 Focus unless their mum pulls her finger out and returns the 405 ready for its 3rd SF.

No MOT at the moment and very little tinkering time.  I know I'd theoretically have some if I didn't go camping but I'd probably end up working if I don't get myself away.

Just to add to the fun the electrical gremlin that wobbling the fuse used to eventually cure has returned and it's harder to wobble the new blade fuse.

Nothing is written in stone, I'd love to bring it but FotU is the meet I'm working towards.

450 mile round trip. Is that a bit of a stretch to come down for a few hours? Got a feeling I may be over stretching it slightly!

700 round trip for a weekend for me. That's without accounting for picking up richbraith, Ghosty and diverting by Luton on the way back. I would say that's fine mate...

Posted

I couldn't do the weekend though. No issues with mileage but I'd only be showing my face for a couple of hours or so!

Posted

Oooh do come, I can give you your stuff that I've plain forgotten to post still!

Posted

To be fair it's the wire strippers I've missed the most! You can keep the head unit!

Ah sorry man, I get paid on Thursday, I'll box it all up and get it posted. Got a tool for thr 406 to return to its owner too who has been chasing. My heads not really with it atm!

Book it in for a test at Twosmoke's on the Friday, then another back up your way on the Monday.  Completely* legal then.

Could we not fix it at sf then present it for a test on Sunday?

Like a group project thing?

We should buy a fucked motor on the Friday, then spend the weekend fixing it up and then draw straws as to who gets it tested on the Monday.

I could bring my tools and we could play the 'let's time beko's engine up 100% with people who know what their doing present' game?

I'm going to bring my tools, you never know when you need them!

I had better not source a weekend project though, if I get stuck with another car I'm up shit street!

So when are people thinking of arriving at this 'ere knees-up?  My original plan was to drive down Friday morning, arrive lunchtime-ish, then bugger off Saturday evening and spend the night with my folks in Somerset before driving home on the Sunday, but if that means I'm going to miss most of the shenanigans I might have to rethink.
