Thanks everyone.

The old guy who owns the guesthouse I stayed at and lives there alone asked me to stay for a few days and help out around the place in return for free lodgings, and this coincided with me feeling low, so here I am.

Also, tractors and trains.

I know at least myself and mat_the_cat enjoy the occasional electricity pylon, so here you go Mat.

Not sure when I'm leaving here, probably today or tomorrow.

Leave when you're ready & recharged.  Der alte Mann im Gästehaus sounds like a bit of a diamond.

That sounds like perfect timing and free lodging is a great price!

Have a great new year Alex.

Glad you have found somewhere to rest for a few days, feeling dizzy and confused could have been the start of something nasty if you had pressed on.

You must be burning through the calories, have you checked your weight at all?

Do I? It's not something I ever recall having mentioned or indeed considered, but I suppose that's quite an attractive one. Thanks  :-)

Don't start Mrs6C on that one, she had a spell working for National Grid!

I’m partial to a good pylon (though I don’t remember mentioning it on here).

We had a school coach trip to France when I was about 11, the first time I’d been abroad, and the pylons were a revelation. They looked like Space Invaders. It was the best bit, apart from a Berliet fire engine and Autobianchi A112s.

At my school we often used to enjoy a regular 'pile on', are you sure youse are spelling it right?

I had a spell when I worked at Hogwarts.

Apologies for the thread hijack, Alex! :-)

They have Mickey Mouse pylons near to DisneyWorld at Celebration, Florida.

If Alex sees any of these, he's good and lost, mind.

I wasn't that far off remembering it correctly Mat.

I've also admired French telegraph poles too. Sometimes I can even blame the wine as well.

That quote was following this post on my old travel/spotting thread.

What a great adventure, I don’t suppose a self published travel guide akin to Kevin whosnames who did a couple or three motorcycle touring books is in the offing?

Now that would be cool, I’d certainly buy it for the kindle and even at 99p (49 to you) it’d soon add up to at least a free holiday or two?

How are the buttocks and crotch?

Sounds like a downmarket starsky and hutch.
