The car hadnt moved for a while and smelled a bit of petrol on start up so I probably should have done some preflight checks, but instead I just had a bit natter to RichardK and marvelled at the butterflys and wasps mistaking the SLK for a giant flower in the Birmingham sun.

After a handshake and a sorrowfull farewell (to the car), I reversed out of the drive and pointed it at the horizon. I had a boot full of spares and an afternoon to enjoy.

To the distance juice shop!

Drives lovely, cruise control alterations are manual but really responsive. It doesnt half kick when you stand on it, even if your cruising at speed limit velocity.

Its not perfect, but its a good un.

Didn't you have to sack one of these off before because you didn't fit?

Yes, but I dont think thats a valid reason not to keep buying them.

Well bought, ISTR you've had this on your radar for a while. Looks cracking.

Yeah, I've followed it for a while and always wanted to buy it.  I just thought, if not now, then when?

Carpe jugulum and all that jive.

get some ibuprofen gel for your neck when you arrive ;)

It wasnt THAT bad really.  Ok, it was QUITE bad, but not as bad as expected.  I wouldnt want to have to change my outfit inside of it but its fine for a couple of hours.  Just scootch down till your lower back burns then sit up straight till your neck spasms. Switch and Repeat until you arrive at desired destination.

Its not so bad as a second car, can get a bit of respite.

Acocks Green looks more salubrious than Selly Oak which is where #1 son is "lodging" while taking 3 years out from hard fucking work.

Well played playa.

Life’s too short to have only owned one example of a car you don’t fit in.

Very sensible purchase. Sensible in the way that I have recently seen a glut of these for sale under £1000 so it must be the right* time to buy one. Personally I think these look really nice and wouldn't mind trying one out.

Great purchase, and belly-laugh worthy write up. I really wish this forum would allow emoticons, rather than a basic ‘like’ button.

How the hell did you fit your greyhound into the SLK though? I’m assuming he/she stood on the passenger seat with chin resting on the top on the screen frame for the whole drive back. I may be wrong though.

Liked for Richard K's hair and his green garage doors.

Is it a scene thing with the plate in the window :mrgreen:

Not quite, its a lack of two screws or any sticky pads. Rich had just taken his privet plate off.

Will be fixerated today so I dont enrage POLICE INTERCEPTORS.
