It may well have done, but I can't see it now. Last week I tracked down another Invacar which is due to be restored. I had a nice chat with the highly skilled and knowledgeable owner and said he should check in here on Autoshite as I was hoping any input from him would be helpful to others and that he also may glean some information. I really hope he has not visited this site since we met last Sunday, I feel a bit of a tit for even mentioning it, knowing the previous history of this thread.

It is quite sad that all the genuinely useful information contained here is buried in so much drivle.

this is exactly one of the things that saddens me about all this, there used to be a time when I would talk to a fellow Invacar enthusiast or new owner, or just someone who I recognise as being Autoshite "oh you daily drive an Austin Montego? I know the forum for you" and I would be like "now I have got you up to speed how about check my thread for more info and where I keep a running blog of my research and findings"

but all this crap is not exactly good first impressions is it...

This place doesn’t really feel like a natural home for in-depth research. It’d be like the secret service compiling a dossier on terrorist activity and hosting it on BeBo, or a university dissertation being written in comic sans. 

A nice website with great SEO would be a real advantage to the community of like minded enthusiasts, where you have complete control over the output. Even a simple Wordpress would work wonders, and you can have a thread of comments below. 

Personally, I’d do this right away. 

And we all remember what happened last time fellow Invacar enthusiasts arrived here. 😉

I make it three years..... I am good thanks. Stab as in with needles? Zero and I also avoided the padded room and straitjacket. I am stable on meds and have been for a couple of years at least.

I wasn't sectioned I voluntarily checked into a mental health unit and was there for about three months.

All the post's saying I was egged on into the whole Stollygate saga are a bit wide of the mark, I egged myself on more than anything.

I didn't sell my house in the end thankfully as my family stepped in and stopped that going through.

What happened with Cedric was a tragedy and I still feel guilty about it. I own zero Stolly's, all I currently have are my late brother's Corrado and the Suzuki Van Van (is there an echo in here?)

Anyway I wasn't planning on coming back to be honest so don't have a meticulously prepared speech or anything. 

Oh and me returning on page 420 of this thread wasn't a coincidence lol.

I'd recommend the ignore option on the site menu. It's comprised in the profile menu section. 

I have used it to mute out all irrelevant posts so I can concentrate on posters with motoring contributions. 

It means while individual posters show up on the timeline - associated irrelevant posts and content is not visible and can be skipped over. 

It's enabled me to keep your very excellent thread to a usable length, relevant and readable. I'm only interested in the Invacar and other associated on-topic material - overall I draw a distinction between content and comment. The former is where my interest lies.

Keep up the good work. The Invacar photo is excellent. I always welcome more material about these fascinating cars from you and others.
