I agree with Mrs6C, and think a Tatoo thread would be good. Think the little Invacar looks great. Not so sure about the Haynes AE86 now that the shortcomings have been pointed out. Any other car tatoos out there?

I'm not deep enough into car tattoos to educate, give me like 5 years and I'll be back 😅

I have 3 children.

The oldest child regularly does things to wind up her middle sister. Nothing that could ever *quite* be called out as being overtly horrible or mean, but it is mean.

She knows how to get a reaction. The objective is to wind up her sister enough that she shouts or throws something or whatever and then gets in trouble for her reaction. The big one of course remains calm throughout so she can claim innocence.

The smaller one doesn't do herself any favours as she responds to it every time, she's big enough to know better.

Anyway I'm sure I am meant to pile in at some point and separate them but what I do is tell the big one to stop winding her sister up and the small one to stop responding. They are both at fault to an extent and it would be really great if they could just leave each other alone and be nice?

Glasgow.

Oh cool its a Tippen Delta Mk2 :)

image.thumb.png.2a568cdfe79a24c52d8b835367fa48e0.png

which was the last Tippen Delta Mark to have a singular headlamp (after which the Ministry standard specification demanded dual headlamps so the Tippen Delta Mk3 was brought out)

but the Mk2 was the first Invalid vehicle to have the classic light "Ministry blue" colour scheme :)

it seems to be the season for Invalid carriages on ebay, as well as the lot that @OldBlokeInACaravan has been selling

a petrol powered Harding has also popped up :)

quite pleased to find this one actually, as I found it many moons ago and noted that it had a Daylight MOT, but ever since then I could not figure out which of the many IC's that was one was (there have been times when I have needed to give an example of a Daylight MOT) glad to have finally found again which one it was!

however an Invalid carriage, is a vehicle which is not MOTable/should be MOT'ed

although a number have been MOT'ed (and subsequently robbed of their number plate which should not have been allowed as DVLA rules state you can only rob the number plate off a vehicle which has to go through an MOT, which is why you never see plate robbed milk floats thankfully for example)

im guessing they manage to get MOT'ed because they just get chucked in as a Tricycle and the MOT men not knowing their own rules!

just idly checking things, and was pleasently surprised to find that LFB209 has had a fresh V5c issued and is now Taxed and insured!

I sadly dont know who bought it, but id like to think its now being used on the road, baffling the locals somewhere :)

speaking of baffling, @JJ0063 you work in the insurance industry right? can you explain this one? LOL

I did phone my insurance company about why it was saying OK Supreme, apparently it's what they put if a vehicle isn't listed on their system, which I found a bit odd as an OK Supreme is a vehicle already. Either way the insurance documents all say Invacar, it's just the MID website that says different.

random question lbf- in a race between the many invacar variants, which would win?

depends on what sort of race it is!

but Probably Model 70 Prototype number 8 since that supposedly had a large 650cc engine for wear testing of the drive line :) (and was literally ragged around a race track by AC until something broke)

and the Model 70 in general was the fastest and best handling of the lot

thats a bit random yeah! I find it baffling, because its not even an understandable computer error like dump code modified cars or Other British other

their system should have an option to manually enter the info if its not on their system

(I know Bikesure/Adrian flux can, because when I insured REV with them for the first time I made sure it came back as Invacar Model 70 properly LOL)

I wonder if these details are what comes up when a police man does an insurance check, could lead to some very baffled police men LOL

(to be fair I dont think most police men these days would know what their looking at even if it did correctly say "invacar" LOL)

It's definitely a bit odd, I'm not going to worry about it for now as she'll be coming off the road again soon for a major mechanical overhaul and I'll be insuring her with hagaty as they quoted me cheaper than my current insurance anyway.

Well I've been meaning to sign up here in forever, but kept forgetting. Thanks to someone over on another forum I frequent poking me about it recently the subject was forced back into my very brief attention span for long enough to get me to act on the instruction.

I figure that my little varied fleet might bring you lot some amusement...

      So...we've got:

1993 Lada Riva 1.5E Estate (now fuel injected, as I reckon the later cars should have been from the factory...).
      1989 Saab 900i Automatic.
      1987 Skoda 120LX 21st Anniversary Special Edition.
      1985 Sinclair C5.
      2009 Peugeot 107 Verve.

Now getting the photos together has taken me far longer than I'd expected...so you're gonna get a couple of photos of each car for now, and I'll come back with some more information tomorrow when I've got a bit more time...

Firstly...The Lada. Before anyone asks - in response to the single question I get asked about this car: No, it is not for sale. Took me 13 years and my father's inheritance to find the thing.

Yes, it's got the usual rusty wings...Hoping that will be resolved in the next couple of months.

Next, a proper old Saab. One of the very last 8 valve cars apparently, and all the better for it. I've driven two 16v autos and they were horrible - the auto box works sooooo much better with the torque curve of the 8 valve engine. Just wish it had an overdrive for motorway cruising...

Next up a *real* Skoda...back when they put the engine where it belongs, right out the back. In the best possible colour of course...eye-searingly bright orange.

Seat covers have been added since that photo was taken as it suffers from the usual rotting seat cloth problem that affects virtually all Estelles.

Then we have possibly the world's scruffiest Sinclair C5...

Realised when looking for this that I really need to get some more photos of the thing...I use it often enough after all! We have a dog who's half husky, so this is a really good way of getting him some exercise.

Finally - again, I really need to take more photos of - we have the little Pug 107.

Included for the sake of variety even if it's a bit mainstream! First (and probably to be the only) new car I've bought, and has been a cracking little motor and has asked for very little in return for putting up with nearly three years of Oxford-Milton Keynes commuter traffic, before finally escaping that fate when my housemate moved to a new job. Now it doesn't do many miles and is my default car for "when I've managed to break everything else."

I'll fill in some more details tomorrow - I warn you though that I do tend to ramble...
