Hello Sam, sorry to hear about your problems with Rovers, I too have the same problem owning 5 x Rover 800s :(

Ahoy!

I'm Chipper, a 20-something shite motor affecionado from deep, dark Cornwall. Limited in what I can buy by my long suffering wife, so I chuck about in an old 7 series, and she drives a Rover 220D, with a Mini in the garage.

I have lurked on and off for a while, so I thought I'd pop my head up :D

Evening all Autoshiters, new fella here, been lurking about for a while, thought it best to join in the fun.

Massive list of previous shite cars, will go through them all at some point.

My current fleet of shite consists of, an 04 Hyundai Matrix, an 05 Ford transit and a 92 Peugeot 205 TD, with much boost.

Awesome forum, etc.

Hi All,

Until the other day, I didn't know this place existed. Now I do and I am pleased.

You are my people and I am one of you. While cars remain my strongest passion, they are not the main reason I am here. In life, I love meeting people who are enthusiastic about their interests. If you dig holes for a living and have good stories to tell about it, then I want to listen to you. If you slice tomatoes in a factory for a living but love amateur blacksmithing after work, I will be fascinated. Enthusiasm is what makes life good and the most enthusiastic, giving, generous and friendly people I have met are 'car people'.

From my very first car (and before) I have been fascinated and obsessed by buying, owning, maintaining and driving as many interesting vehicles as possible.

I have plenty of good stories and would like to share them which you and read yours. I will happily share what little advice and opinion I can and hope to get lots from this forum in return.

As well as maintaining 4 cars, I also maintain a very understanding girlfriend. I live in Bath, I am male, I am 26, I am a qualified teacher but the 'lifestyle' of a teacher is not for me.

Happy to be here,

Foeux.

I'm teacher as well, and our current fleet also totals four. What part of the teaching lifestyle don't you like? I became part-time/supply five years ago (after ten years of full-time teaching) and the quality of life is massively improved.

Welcome along Sam, isn't that Cort's old SD1?

Yup, I'll get a thread together soon.

Hello, I've been a fairly active member of autoshites Facebook page for a while. Generally spotting shite since before I even knew it existed and I've owned a couple of bits of shite myself (Mini, E30) and lend my spannering hands to anyone else's shite when needed!

Enjoy the Facebook and want to see what the forum is all about!

Cheers.

Yo guys my name is Flynn. My car forum history goes like this, stretching back to 2008:

toyotaownersclub.com

Finalgear.com

pug306.net

306oc.co.uk

club-306.com

tyresmoke.net

the other one that is not to be mentioned

All of them I have been banned from at some point or am still banned from.

I really like the name of this website and I could do with a general car website to post my musings on and get feedback.

I am mainly into normal everyday cars that the working man can afford, not supercars. Also I am not into new cars, preferring things pre 2001.

I have just finished a six year love affair with my first car, a modified Peugeot 306 diesel turbo with uprated turbocharger, fabricated and fitted by myself. Due to said turbocharger, the engine chucked a rod good and proper, although it did well after six years of abuse.

Promptly decided to scrap it although didn't have the funds for a new car so searched ebay looking for a replacement lump and found one for £70, fitted it by the roadside as a one off (NOT something I would like to repeat).

Anyways, first time I started it up I could tell the head gasket was blown. After a few journeys it broke down outside my house by means of not starting. Not wanting to tackle a road side head gasket job I have decided to scrap it and get something else.

So far I have looked at Porsche 944s but ruled them out due to lacklustre engines and they are appreciating in value a lot. Currently thinking of an MR2 mk2 n/a.

Also working on a motorcycle licence as well. Been on and off due to funds, did the CBT back two years ago, funds have been on and off since then, currently been unlucky on road test part, passed off road part first time.

Hahaha, you don't change Flynn.

I am new here myself but am aware of your previous antics on other forums.

Let's see how long you last here before somebody whacks you with the banhammer.

Also, welcome along.

What forums do you know me from? I notice you are new too. I guess you have registered here with a different name. PM me if you want.

306 owners clubs mainly.

Yeah, as said in previous post, I am new here.

I am also a man of many disguises, although it shouldn't be too hard to unravel my dastardly past when I post about some of my previous shite.

Eventually.

We dont have a banhammer here, just a lynchmob... Or we put your name down for a crap raffle and laugh as you go collect it...

We do have a banhammer, but it's only been used about five times in the eight years I've been a member.

It's Flynn, bugger the banhammer, straight to the lynch mob. Burning torches optional.

Hi all. New to this site but have a colourful past in autos! At present I own a Peugeot 305 GT 1984. Have owned a great variety off French machinery ranging from Renault Dauphine Ferlec, Renault 12's, R6, FSO's and I was the guy that had the last Dacia Denem that we know off hidin in my shed in NI that Sam Glover now has. Also owned one off the very last Peugeot 305 GL vans, a 91 reg.

Yeah, I will upload more at the weekend. She has just came out off a long hibernation and got a full restoration and respray. 100k on the clock and a mint tweed interior. The alloys obviously are non original but I have got 2 off the proper Styled Steel wheels. I also have a rough set off 305 GTX alloys which need a refurb but I think I will search for the correct steels to keep her original. A few little issues like a fuel gauge with a mind off its own and blower fan not going but that's really about it. I always liked the old Peugeots but more used to the XUD up front. Glad you like!
