Bargain, bargain much cheapness!

My friend has owned this for a few years and about 18 months ago when the MOT ran out he took it to our local older car friendly MOT garage for a pre-mot. It would have failed on a couple of split gaiters and front wishbone bushes (TADTS). He planned on doing the work, but other toys got in the way and it has basically just sat. It now needs a jump to start (though the battery may well take a charge) and the rear brakes are binding due to lack of use (another TADTS). I planned on buying it when he decided to get rid, and typically he offered it to me today, the day after my latest Gumtree purchase, so I said I would offer it on here for him.

Bodywork and interior are good, it has a decent set of winter tyres fitted, runs well and has lots of miles (about 170k from memory). Located near Montrose in the NE Scotland, I am sure a clean up of the rear brakes would get it ready to drive to a pre booked MOT anywhere. As an alternative, I can deliver, with some notice, for £1 a mile. MOT history can be checked online, but this is the one to have with turbo and 4x4 in a smallish estate. Any uestions, just ask, I may need to ask the owner, but will get back to you. You are welcome to view.

A mate had one of these and it was surprisingly unburstable, suffering only minor FTPs such as coil packs and sensors over many thousands of miles of neglection (he's very much a get in and drive, worry about the bits that fall off sort of thing)

It's not for me, but I can vouch for Octavia wagons awesome usefulness.

And when I bought my last one there was an extra nought.

Bargain!

ORANGE according to DVLA.... need glasses...

Looks a useful tool....just wrong end of country and wrong gearbox for me!!

So much want; 4x4, that lovely 1.8 turbo (with lots of tuner potential) and useful junk moving capacity, and yet so totally the wrong time for me to be considering purchases.

Can somebody please buy this, fix all the problems and sell it to me in about 3 years time.

Thanks.

This sounds like that Toledo that we all had, only better and more practical.

Get it bought, someone

I'm mildly tempted by this, the price is appealing and it's fairly local and I've been considering a boring modern for some time now...

DOWN BOY!  No way I can justify this when my Golf might need a new clutch and cambelt...

I would be tempted but getting it home would make it a lot more expensive.....

And I'm not sure how well driving to a prebooked mot works when you've to cross the Irish Sea as part of the trip

Oh God, the bargainousness! But the distance!!

Was also going to ask if it had a tow bar. Really don't need it, apart from 2 weeks when my Leggy is in for an MOT to save driving an Almera on the weekends, but it's totally my type of car.
