davehedgehog31 Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Price agreed - CheckTrain booked - CheckHotel booked - CheckMoney lifted - CheckInsurance juggled - CheckCar actually seen before agreeing to buy - Oh.... Leg one of this adventure is about to get underway, as I leave work to venture home from there it will be a lift in to Glasgow Central train station. Not in the same stakes as the Megabus mission to Leafy London Suburb to collect the Rover. This should be altogether more comfortable. Updates to follow. clayts450, gm, Split_Pin and 15 others 18

davehedgehog31 Posted June 29, 2018 Author Posted June 29, 2018 Destination 1 achieved. Booked a first class ticket on the train, in the wee lounge. Stuffed my bag with about 8 packets of crisps and several cans for the drive home. I like to get my money's worth. davehedgehog31 Posted June 29, 2018 Author Posted June 29, 2018 Wow, impressive levels of dedication. Give us a clue what you’re collecting.Clue one - The engine is well liked by those who enjoy running their car on the bi-products of their local fried beak, hoof and trotter concerns. A particularly unhelpful clue to where im going in photo form, there will be a change of train to another Virgin service... But where? davehedgehog31 Posted June 29, 2018 Author Posted June 29, 2018 Merc 190D or something with a Pug XUD engine ?It's one of those two and not German. Thankfully we are blissfully unaffected by the CO2 shortage. Sent from my Moto C Plus using Tapatalk Junkman, HMC, Split_Pin and 5 others 8
martc Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Booked a first class ticket on the train, in the wee lounge. Is this a euphemism for hiding in the bog, for the whole journey, without a ticket? Yoss, Junkman, davocano and 4 others 7

davehedgehog31 Posted June 29, 2018 Author Posted June 29, 2018 Reading reviews of my lodgings for this evening. "The authorities should shut this down, not fit for human habitation"Wow, fuck me this is grim. If the Austin Allegro was a hotel room. The photos don't do the heat, or staleness any justice. davehedgehog31 Posted June 30, 2018 Author Posted June 30, 2018 My sleep last night was disturbed by a gaggle of pished ladies battling in the corridor outside my room. We're underway for train 3 on day 2. Collection should be achieved within the hour and Dez shot not long thereafter. oldcars and Junkman 2
davehedgehog31 Posted June 30, 2018 Author Posted June 30, 2018 On this train I've just twigged why English residential streets look "different" from Scotland. You don't roughcast anything. Seems to be a uniquely Scottish thing covering your house in little stones. Jim Bell, oldcars, Junkman and 1 other 4
