Winner! Congratulations Moog!

Congrats Moog!

I didn't particularly want it. I definitely didn't need it and I've got no room for it so why am I disappointed?

You might not be. It's all in the balls.

It certainly was, Ken

I share your mild depression - really fancied this one.

Does the plan involve swapping with a crappy PT Cruiser by any chance ?

Talk to me!

Can't begin to describe the disappointment. Genuinely though I'd have begginers luck!

It has happened, or you can be like me where you never win anything. I could have bought this for cash for the money I have put in roffles, but where’s the fun in that?

Missus Moog didn't take that well! Normally I get away with it, but not tonight.

I think my uncle is interested, hence the tickets in the first place. Which is plan A.

Well done Mr Moog.

I guess that is the thing about roffles, the fear, the excitement and the odd disappointment/relief.

All of life, right there in a number or two.

Right they are struggling with insurance. Any suggestions for places to try?

FJ, PBIS.... all good. Having classic car club membership helps. The green MGF is £126 a year fully comp and that is for London.

Join MGOC for £44 https://secure.mgownersclub.uk/join/signup.php

Then use the MGOC deal for classic insurance with Lancaster - https://www.lancasterinsurance.co.uk/car-clubs/mgoc-exclusive-insurance-scheme/

Worth a quote if all else fails. I did something similar with my XJ40. Joined the Jag club for £40 and it knocked £90 off my classic insurance or something like that.

Try Lancaster anyway, I had my Jag on classic insurance with them for bugger all without being a club member.

So this has been interesting. He has phoned and spoken to a few people.

He mentioned he might do some track days with it and they then refused to insure the car.

One insurer said that they would need to be informed of the car had been used on a track day as that then effects the car in some way. They then said he must tell other insurance companies that they have refused him in insurance and thus the circle goes on.

I have given him some more specialist contact details including Green light who cover modified mx5s.

That sounds a bit mental. I had a quite reasonable quote when I was getting over enthusiastic about it.
