Dollywobbler's Starlet - £SOLD

The seats in N-trails look like someone cut up blocks of old latex foam mattresses and plonked them inside the car.

Oh man. That's hard to refuse! Sadly, with Bulgaria in the offing and the Starlet not sold, I fear I must.

Alternatively, buy my Starlet and allow me to live the dream!

I love it. I don't love the price, location or the fact I still have the Starlet. Which I should just keep really. It's a decent motor. Which I've done nearly 2000 miles in already.

https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-ACCORD-AERODECK-CLASSIC-CAR/153004970306

This is in the wee Honda's related listings and has me swooning, my parents had a base Honda Accord saloon, black bumpers and a carb, I was jealous of our neighbour's Aerodeck 2.2. The one in the listing even has local plates. Collection assistance available.

Sorry for the derail, you're not even looking for a car in the UK, for sale threads rarely stay on track here...

Reserve though innit, seller will want four figures I bet.

Which it might actually be worth. My Dad had an auto saloon of that shape and was an awesome car

Quite.  I laugh about how miserly people are on here.  Did anyone ever pay proper money for a proper car?!  £1000 for a car that will, frankly, last forever is buttons.

It's a sad reality: People know the price of everything and the value of nothing.

It's Autoshite. It's all about miserly motors! That's kind of the point.

Different strokes for different folks.

For me, this is the difference between Autoshite and Bangernomics. A grand would make no sense with the latter when someone on here will sell you a perfect car with full MOT for £62. But, if it’s unfashionable cars that were left field choices when new - then £1k is approximately 2 weeks of the average UK pay. For something that will happily trundle along indefinitely, then that seems like a good investment.

I think it might just be me though.

£1k is approximately 2 weeks of the average uk wage

Or 4 weeks wages if youre in the North.

Yeah, fair point.  I took my info from the web and have little first hand knowledge of the third world.  Apologies.

Averages are grand but they dont half wind up the plebs near the bottom of the curve. What Ive never understood is that houses are cheaper up here, but shit old cars seem to be cheaper in london (looking on ebay). Its like #bangernomics has its own black-economy that accepts no rules of overriding economies.

Dude, you're fooling nobody.  We've all seen you in your mink coat, swagger stick and luxury JDM pimpmobile.

Being helpful now - wot about this? Needs to be about half the price mind - but look at that Lacquer peel!

Cheap cars are more expensive where people have limited monies, as there is more demand for them.

Cheap cars are very cheap in expensive areas as there is no market for them.

Simple economics. I've lost count of the number of "cheap" cars I've bought from posh looking houses in expensive areas a lot cheaper than you could buy them from the centre of a shitty city somewhere.

What about something like this?..... doesn’t have to necessarily be this one but would certainly take your fleet in another direction...

I gotta say Ian, that'd be a great purchase.  I could see that in your yard all done up and shiny, waiting to collect banjaxxed engines and whatnot.

This is why one of my saved searches is within 10 miles of harrogate. Easy collection and plenty of $£ in the area.

Bump for this. Can confirm it will happily cover 350 miles in a day no sweat. My back was less happy with the situation. Far too sensible. Must go!
