We used to sell loads of these when I was a Halfords Garage Services bod Anyone remember 'Stomil' tyres as found on FSO's and mid-life bangers across the country? Well Kormoran was the name selected to rebrand Stomil for the brave new world ahead. They are still made in the same factory in Poland that started Stomil tyre production in 1959. bunglebus Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 One of my pet hates, but very common. Anyone would think the car is just a status symbol - but also I'm sure there are some who fit odd ditchfinders to each corner then complain that the ride is harsh/noisy or it handles like shit. Then there's me with a set of matching Goodyears on a 25 year old Passat

When I bought my 09 Qashtsun, the PO had just fitted a new LANVIGATORR on the offside front as it had been an MOT fail. Problem was the nearside front wasn't much better. I ended up going out of my way to source a new matching LANVIGATORR for the nearside so it matched the week old tyre on the other side. Can't stand mismatched treads across an axle. To be fair, there's no other time I'd specifically go out of my way to buy a shite brand tyre. The mild irony is that grip is good, road noise not particularly obvious and wear minimal so far. leafsprung 1

Last car I bought , I made the dealer change two new HiFlys for Dunlops to match the other two. ( well couldn’t get anything else out of them once the wife told the salesman she loved the car and must have it).

We've run midrange Falken Ziex Ecoruns on our family E91 for years and they've been excellent. I tend to stick them on the rest of our motors now as and when they need replacing and it's what I'll fit on the QQ should I need a pair/4 at some point. I'll probably have sold it by that point knowing me though.

Quick check at my normal tyre place , Falkens £97 or £101, Dunlop Sport Maxx £102 , Pirelli P zero £108, Goodyear F1 £112 although tbf Michelin Pilot Sport have increased a bit lately £126.
