The caravan I had on eBay made double what I was expecting and the new owner has just taken it away, seemingly delighted with his purchase.

Thanks to Father Ted for telling me to stick with it. :D

I had a Berlingo, it was a total pile of wank. Interestingly, it now has an export marker against it on doovla website.

Absolutely pwning a Bertilingo from the traffic lights in Boston this evening. Even better, despite him appearing to rev the van almost as much as my 2CV (not bad for a diesel) someone pulled from my left straight into his lane, so my mate behind in a Volvo Amazon also unleashed some pwn! I never use 'cool' phrases so I apologise if I got that wrong.

Going to a car show and watching a lovely Yellow Mk 1 Capri with something not very standard under the hood wheel spinning and growling up the road then watching a lad in a Mk 3 Golf 1.4 with shitty OMG RAT LOOK try and copy him and managing the most wankys peep you have ever heard from the tyres!.

A bloke in a rented place opposite appeared yesterday with a huge '80s Chevy station wagon, which made burbly V8 noises and was painted in a horrible Orange/Blue pattern. I could see him this morning roller and sponge painting it matt black :D

What appeared to be some sort of 1950's Standard driving around the roundabout at Lakeside Ikea around lunchtime today! No camera to hand and I made a mental note of the plate but I haz forgot it. Darn! I think it was something like 611 HOK. But nice to see it around anyway, had a nice used patina to it. I might pop down there again tomorrow in case its a local worker nipping out to lunch or something.

Secured a supply of NOS Rover service parts for the 25. 40 spark plugs, 10 oil filters, 10 air filters, fuel filters, brakes etc etc.

Result!

Unfortunately, due to "Project Drive", you will now only receive 3 spark plugs, 2 oil filters and no air filters, fuel filters or brakes.

:D I actually have the Project Dive deletion list for the 25. Talk about desperation! 4cm long foam tape removed from glovebox lid FFS!

Richard Hammond, strangely enough. The irritating little gobshite has just gone up several rungs in my estimation with his column in the May issue of Top Gear - could almost have been written by an Autoshiteist.

Surprising Citroen Berlingo is making me grin actually.

We've got one on hire at work because our Tranny Connect is in for repair (again). This one is pushing 70k and it's still pretty tight. Not overly keen on the shifting action, though, the stick feels like it's set in porridge.

A few days ago some berk in an old 4wd pick-up came whizzing up to the bumper of the aggro and started franticly weaving about, leaning from side to side in the cab, generally being menacing and stupid etc etc. This cocking about carried on four about 4 miles and he nearly lost it on a roundabout before he turned in to Tesco. Anyway we were on our way home tonight and saw him ashen faced, crapping himself having been pulled by two cops. He's only a young lad and apparently there have been loads of complaints about him (my fella's the local bobby) so I'm guessing he won't have a car much longer if he carries on.Anyway. I felt like justice was being done!

Good! Can't stand idiots like that.My own copper-involving grin comes from booting it down a dual carriageway in a rather powerful sports car earlier this evening. I wasn't actually getting illegal, but I did reach the limit rather quickly, only to see blue lights in my mirror. Thankfully, they drove past me but I was rather worried for a bit!

Garage not far from here had the compound 'visited' by some itinerant kids. Said little bastards smashed the windows on an old car and robbed the battery. But guess what? In a compound almost full of vehicles they managed to knacker one of only two owned by some other travellers

Slow puncture in rear tyre traced to enormous screw in centre of tread. How I missed that I will never know. Either way "Yeah, a new tyre is £107 but we can fix that permanently and guarantee the repair for the life of the tyre - £15". Result! In real terms thats £92 in my sky rocket I thought I didnt have. Also saw the infamous "Jedi Cruiser" at the garage having its tracking done. Was tempted to have a word with the owner, i.e "Hello there, thats an interesting car you have!" but chickened out.Had a chat with an old boy who had a spanking Renault 19 on an "F" plate so a very early model. He picked it up for £100 and uses it for boot sales and general pottering about/garden centre runs. Nice choice and it had lasted amazingly well. I always liked those, still have a lot of affection for the 19, especially the early flat front models.

I heard on the news earlier about a ballot paper being sent to a six year old boy somewhere or other (Dorset?) He was asked by the press about his political views. If he were in power he reckoned his Transport Policy would entail "More tipper trucks"Brilliant. Childhood summed up in three words. :D

On a similar note, whilst looking after Miss S (aged 16 months) this evening, I saw her shuffling towards the kitchen bin with something in her hand. As I stopped her opening the lid, I saw it was the election leaflet for the local Green Party candidate. I allowed her to continue, and she duly deposited said bilge into the waste receptacle. Made me chuckle, anyway!

Made an early morning foray to the petrol station in the RUB 626 and got some more "cred" from a taxi driver. Bar me, the concentration of old minicab shite around here is incredibly low - from the side he thought it was a Bluebird and that would have been enough for him by the sounds of it! He was impressed for it to be a 626 (bit more rare) and had a good look around it and gave me a useful tip for cleaning light-coloured carpets.I'm always pleased for taxi drivers to be interested in my motors, they must be pretty jaded towards cars with having to drive them all the time, so for something I'm driving around in to catch their attention it must be pretty worthwhile. They can get surprisingly nostalgic about it. The Stanza could have an MOT on it this week, so that should give me some God-like powers amongst the minicab crew, looking forward to that.

It's 'Radiodread' by the Easy Star All-Stars, basically a dub reggae remake of OK Computer. It really cheered me up listening to it in the car after a yet another dreary day* at work** from which I very nearly lost my rag at a none too liked co-worker.

(*Other forms of abject misery are available, hey, let's be optimistic, this is the HAPPY thread!

**Detailed in the GOM thread.)

For once, work. Had a great couple of days actually getting involved with something interesting, my input was listened to (and acted on) and the lads I was on with were a fucking right laugh. Tea, fag breaks and Pam Ayres recitals for the win.

Will dig out my Catherine Wheel albums this weekend after seeing Wats piccie, always good for a few non-grumpy hours. My skin is black metallic.
