On adverts,i think the Jaffa cakes one with the furry creature is funny. The blokes face makes me laugh. Not as good as dairy milk one with baccara singing though

Those wheels are a bit of alright, I have no idea who the manufacturer is.

I reckon they're by Vintage Works.

I'm not sure the vendor would have let four OE Shelby ten-spokes go for £200.

Does that mean you have your pick of Mustang fitment wheels for the Amazon?

I did think they looked a lot more 70s than 60s.

Yes. Amazons run a PCD of 5 x 114.3mm, so most Mopar \ Ford \ AMC wheels will fit. The ten spokes were introduced in 1967 when the GT500 came in, so they're contemporary to the age of the car, even if the Amazon itself is a late-fifties design.

The B20-engined cars from '68 ran a different stud pattern.

I was looking for more info on a Rolls Royce Silver Spur shooting brake posted on the blue forum and found something far better.  It rivals Delahaye for cars I want but shall never, ever own.  Am I right in thinking this is sporting Fiat 130 lights?

I don't think  it was built with those headlamps...seem to remember  this having round units (a la Camargue)  when it was metallic red.   Or is that  anuzzer one?   Rear lights look like Maser/Lambo to me but can't place them.   They are differently framed  to the Fiat Coupe ones.  It is bloody lovely though and I prefer it in that green....

Front end has a look of Lady Penelopes motor (minus a couple of wheels and a few bulbs).

Frua made two similar cars.
The green 2 door shown above.
Then a red 4 door convertible:

This car also had a detachable half-hardtop to make it into a Sedanca De Ville.

The green car was built for Consul Simon van Kempen, Dutch Ambassador to Switzerland.

Yes but the SM lights were just stolen from something Italian I think, though I can't remember what.

If that really is the case, it must be something bordering obscurity, considering the going rates for used SM units.

That green one is quite possibly one of the best looking cars ever.

I googled it and a previous Autoshite discussion came up! It seemed inconclusive but did mention how similar they are to Lancia Gamma units, and early Fiat 130 Coupe (later ones are very different).

Making me grin today was my sister-in-law's bf, who upon departing from our house, for no apparent reason at all decided to veer off the lane onto the grass verge, which being deep, soft mud, promptly gave way and dumped his Transit onto its axles. He's not known for his driving skillz, but even so, I'm impressed by the totally random nature of the event.

After I nearly destroyed my clutch trying to pull him free (I didn't realise at that point that it was actually grounded on the edge of the road surface, or I wouldn't have bothered trying) and nearly gassed myself on the smoke, he decided the best course of action would be to jack the near-side up to lend traction to the wheels still on the road. This involved placing 2 scissor-jacks, on a narrow plank of wood, in the aforementioned gloop, and winding them up. Surprisingly, they stopped sinking just long enough to punch through the metal that was taking the weight - turned out that he couldn't reach the actual jacking points.

So after waiting for around 2 hours while he faffed about with breezeblocks and planks, and annoyed the various other drivers that couldn't get past and had to reverse about 500 yards to a turning point, I drove to the nearest garage, whereupon a nice mechanic came out with a Range Rover. After 3 attempts, he finally got all 4 wheels on the road, then gracefully continued across the lane and drove into the ditch on the other side. Fortunately, the RR driver responded by gunning it, and the momentum bounced the Tranny straight out again.

I did suggest, twice, that bro-in-law should check his diff very carefully for damage, as it hit the road when he went off, and was dragged for a good 20 yards while being towed, but he responded in the awkward manner of someone who doesn't know what a diff is (or an axle, or possibly even a wheel) but doesn't want to admit as much.

He is. His taking ownership of a car is basically a death sentence for it - I don't think any of them have lasted longer than a year maximum. If he doesn't write them off, he somehow causes them to develop a bewildering array of faults and several massive repair bills. It's quite bizarre.

...and when I can get to a PC I'll sort the orientation of the picture out.

I was just looking at that on my phone but as it was upside down, rotated my phone to see it properly. Still upside down. I am not a smart man.

Fixed the oil leak in the SS Torrey Canyon Fiesta TDCi, and scored a replacement alloy with a good tyre for 25 bills. Just needs a TRE now and it's MOT booking time.

*LAME TO FAME ALERT*

I used to do a paperround for JimBobs Mum, Jenny when I was young.

Last time I saw JimBob I was a little pissed. I got him to sign my driving licence and then asked Fruitbat my cheque book before the gig. When the gig had started. I then knocked over the drumkit by falling onto it midsong (can't remember which song) causing a 10 minute hiatus. Not seen them since as I do not think I was too popular after that.

and I amaware of your existence through a beige forum so therefore I am Jimbobs BFFForevah!
