ScaryOldCortina - take a listen to this!

Your guitar work on YouTube has made me (and my little niece) grin this year. Top work Sir and a big THANK YOU.

Previously I've grumped about crappy overtime pay. However today the boss went round to say thanks for helping out and gave us all £70 worth of love2shop vouchers which I'm genuinely chuffed about.

Now, what to spend them on......?

Thanks for saying that! I'm glad someone other than me enjoys my playing

I'm grinning because we got given a 42" LCD telly that wouldn't come out of standby recently, and today I repaired it with £2.36 worth of Maplin capacitors. Extra christmas present for Conor, who is now killing aliens (or zombies) in glorious 1080p HD. It's in his room, obviously, because there is no place for a telly in our front room.

Well, after a crap day shuffling around my garage trying to find a seeingly non-existant expansion tank around a car I ha very little access to I noticed in some of my mates 'crap' he got stored in my garage some old magazines, I picked myself a 1988 copy of 'What Car' (Company Car edition with an early mk3 Cavalier on front cover) and a couple of 1988 copies of 'The Beano'

BMW has suffered from a couple of unexplainable air locks in the coolant system recently. Kinda worrying with a 300k motor. Did a sniff test and it's fine. Bled the system and it's been ok for a week / 500 miles or so. Today, the airlock was back.

So, went to bleed the system, decided to remove the bleed screw from the thermostat housing as it was a bit chewed up. Take it out and the bleed screw was slightly cracked. Fitted a new one and heyyyyy, it's fine all of a sudden. Result.

Fantastic - it's always worrying when problems "mend" themselves, much better to find the faulty part. Top bombing, sir.

The doctor came out of intensive care after examining the missus and said "I'm afraid I don't like how your wife looks at the moment".

"Neither do I Doc, but her father owns a brewery".

Apart from some relative "success" in securing interviews (no doubt I will get rejected at that stage for a random reason or another), I am grinning because I managed to get all the way to (the outskirts of) London on about 17 quid's worth of autogas. However, it's still a miserable-looking figure of 26.16 MPG (although the MPG calculation includes about 20 miles of town driving where I probably got 3.7 MPG).

Shame, that could have been a late entry for thread of the year. If only they were valid there. And if only I had a girlfriend.

Hopefully on the road to a ditch filled with spikes. Whilst on fire. And with every single copy of that fucking song in the boot

I have never knowingly heard any of Michael Bubble's output, and I intend to keep it that way.

^ Really can't understand who would like his 'music' :?

It's so bland that, despite having sat through at least two songs, the claim I made last night still stands.

Has anyone been watching the little crackers series on Sky 1 HD?, http://sky1.sky.com/sky1hd-shows/little-crackers

Each 15 minute episode features a "famous" celebrity telling a story about their past, It's been really good so far, the best one for me being Sally Lindsay who play Shelley in Corrie.

Anyway the reason i mention it is that it's full of old shite, So far I've seen a Talbot Alpine, a white colour coded Mk5 Cortina 2.0 GLS (The one that was on autotrader for ages), a tatty Mk1 Transit, another Mk5 Cortina Estate, a Leyland Princess as well as a few other cars.

Well worth a watch if you have Sky HD, it's also on the anytime planner.
