Deposit left, expect "OMG DMF failure" from me soon:

Looks ok that and they fetch really good money at the moment. If we all worried about DMF failure and other problems we'd probably end up not buying a modern vehicle so you might as well have gone for it.

You'll probably be surprised at how good it is tbh and like you say no rust would be a worry as it'd have probably been tarted up after a hard life in the previous owner's hands.

Back to grinning:

Hats off to Comet as my new camera knackered up recently and I had to take it back for repair. Expecting them to blame me with a feeble excuse they got it back quicker than they said, apologised for it being faulty and fitted a new PCB.

Been back in small car makes me smile, so much better in the city.

You may remember the wheelchair ramp I made from scrap...

100_2174-vi.jpg

Well now I've made a guard for my fire, also from scrap!

100_2246-vi.jpg

My landlady has a shop, and wanted an old display stand removing, so I flung it in the back of the pickup. These are the baskets from it, wired together and with the plastic flashing removed. I have no objection to advertising assorted brands of chocolate, but they would have melted in the baskets' new role... Oh and what am I burning in the fireplace? Cut-up pieces of pallets, old bits of wooden pergola fom my neighbour, and some broken branches, with some old newspapers to help it along.

Can't beat a bit of recycling.

going down that pallet in a wheelchair must've been like crossing a cattle grid in a BMW*

1999 Ford Mondeo ST24 by Trigger's Retro Road Tests!, on Flickr

This is my old Mondeo ST24, it really was a minter and had covered a low mileage, I sold it a young guy back in March 2009 as it was costing to much to run, I haven't seen it since so i was well chuffed this afternoon when i saw it driving through Colchester, It still looked bloody tidy from what i saw of it was all, 2 1/2 years later, Brilliant!

I had a "Mark 1" (IE unfacelifted) 2.5 Mondeo years ago. It was a great motor, but not as nice as that one. I now have a car with nearly the same engine in it.

This is my old Rover which I followed for a while today. It was being test driven by the potential new owners. Couldn't resist following them into the dealer and giving them a full run down of the history. Looked terrific after a valet and looks like the couple are going for it. Good to see it staying local.

IIRC, you sold that for a very reasonable price trig? It looks gorgeous in the photo.

The guy in Rotherham Town centre on Saturday, leaning on his horn at the 3 cars stopped and holding him up.

They were being held up by the Police so a band and Santa with raindeer and sleigh could get across the road into the pedestrian area.

Cue the guy shinking back into his car when one of the coppers "sauntered" up to him for a word...

You trig! :D

Ah!, I THINK i sold it for £1100 which was a hell of a good car for the money, I think it still only had 81k on the clock and was mint inside and out, at the time, these prices of them were dropping like lead balloons and that wasn't a bad price for one, I think i still lost about £600 on it in a year as always.

Always fancied one but it's not really gonna do anything differently to my Ghia other than cost loads more in fuel & insurance!

Popped out of the fun factory just now to go to the shops and some gypppos have just stuffed their Focus into the traffic lights. The car is completely f*cked as are the lights and Ive just heard some sirens going!

I didn't know the Focus was available as a flatbed tipper...

Got a shittish one on my iPhone* and if I can work out how to upload it to my pc I will lob it up.

The people at my lad's work went for a shufty shortly afterwards and said the place was swarming with coppers and neither of the pikeys looked old enough to drive. There's a surprise

*Sorry.

Just found a brand new, in-packet 4 gig memory card for my camera! That's the good bit. The worrying part is I don't remember buying it

This reminds me of being on holiday and our youngest (2 at the time) producing a stream of lifted toys and snacks that had tickled her fancy whilst walking around the supermarket. We'd not noticed her tealeafing at all at the time, she had quite a haul.

Making me grin tonight in no particuler order are kseal, port and guiness and waxed chod.

Got to play in the full on radio studio today whilst recording some links. They were better than the full-on national ones that EMAP have in Leicester Square. I feel pretty lucky in this regard.

I'm watching Sherlock Holmes on DVD, the Guy Ritchie movie. I was an extra on that, in the House of Lords scenes (Manchester, October 2008). Finally, I've spotted myself in the crowd! At last! :D:D:D:D:D

Quality! My only claim to fame was I was interviewed on the news last year... I thought I hadn't made the news then my phone went mad. It turned out they had used the audio clip on the radio as well, I scared the shit out of myself as I was listening to the midnight news.

Can't wait for the next one of those Sherlock films, they're brill.

The first one certainly was! Of course I might be slightly biased... but thanks for the kind words. :D

I've moved on now, film's finished; I've got Dexter season 2 in the player now. More brilliance.

That's the same film that caused me extra misery on my commute to work because they closed the Regent Road bridge for two weeks to film there.

On a similar note I was delayed going down Speke Boulevard today because somebody decided to make a film there. I was stuck behind a Blue Mercedes W123 on a lowloader covered in cameras being towed at a snails pace.:evil:

This little bundle of fluff called Chiana , 12 weeks old and so loving :D
