What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

SRSLY FIT BIRD.

Keeping me hapy is (believe it or not) the Vectra. Just whanged down to a local tyre place, had the two rears replaced (which were rubbing) and now it's good to go. Let it warm up, then nailed it down the bypass. It's got some sort of spazzy looking cone air filter type thing, and an aftermarket bit of exhaust somewhere, and it sounds almost like a Subaru, plus it goes very nicely indeed.

Fuel consumption ain't for the faint hearted if you hit the loud pedal but it's such a laugh to drive.

And, while on a (nother bloody pointless) errand I chanced upon this, in glorious blotchy telephone-o-cam.

The spitting image of mine, but on an S plate. Interestingly it was badged 820Si, and I thought all the later 800s just said 800, like mine.

I wish I had been in mine so I could draw level, give a cheery wave and then blitz off in a cloud of KV6 headgasket particles, but alas I was in some kind of £45k kraut dullness.

The S-plate 820 should normally be badged '800' but the owner might have changed it to '820Si' What the number plate, looks kind of wiered.

Your 800 looks great too, though looks as if you could do with a new numberplate.

That number plate does look weird, don't it. Hmm, looked normal in real life.

I could indeed do with some new plates, I need to get around to getting that chap that Trig (?) used to get a set of repro dealer ones.

Just to add...

TEH HORNS. She looks rather pleasant. She'd have to keep the horns on, obviously :D:twisted:

I've just done a big wet in my underpants, wasn't expecting to see this at all :shock:

I suppose it remains to be seen whether this is an actual Grin; time will tell. What's the ultimate van-driving job? How about Ambulance? I start next week... 8)

This is the driving job I've always wanted, and yes, I know there's a load more to it than "simply" driving. The service you get from 112 (local emergency number) apparently leaves a lot to be desired, so there's quite a flourishing trade in private ambulance services here, not to mention private hospitals. Tis one of these private ambulance providers that's now taken me on. Watch out for the 1999 ex-Merseyside Transit bashing the motorway to Nicosia... :D That'll be me! We have red lights here, not blues, btw. As van-driving goes, this has to be top of the heap.

I'll have a large deep pan 12" pizza in five then, :D All the best for that, it won't be dull, anyway.

Baguette + Cider + Laura Veirs = Top end to an 11 hour shift at work. Until Station sees what I've written in the GOM thread. :| Switzerland.

Well done on the job! Interesting that it didn't require you to speak Greek, though I presume there's a team of 3-4 people in an ambulance.

112 is the EU-wide emergency number, and it's grown to an almost-international level. It obviously works in the UK, too.

Unit Wirral (ver 2.1) is nearly completed. Big thanks to Pete M for towing the MM5 Fester and providing someone just about crazy enough to sit in it while being towed by his sex machine P38. Free coffee and biscuits will be proved on your next visit. Much positive karma heading your way.

Which of you was it left the steering lock on on the Fiesta, by the way? That did make the 90° turn out of Unit 1 somewhat interesting for my tame madman. Especially as I hadn't noticed the Fiesta in distress.

Not guilty! If it's any consolation I towed a Fiat Panda sideways across a field with my old 3.9Efi.

My tame madman and I went to rescue a shagged old Smiley Transit from a farm in Frankby with an old mental Rangie Classic. The Transit was up to its axles in shite and full of all the crap you can imagine. It had been there a couple of years minimum.. Dragged it from there straight to St Helens at 60 mph - with the transmission cooler blocked off because I'd forgotten to release the clamps.

That was fun.

Fucking coincidence but Frankby was the location of my Panda towing adventure!

The company is run by a Brit (well a Glaswegian anyway :? ) so it's catering mainly for expats. As long as I can read addresses that should be enough. Good guess on the team Luxo, there should be 2-3 aboard at any time. Thanks for the wishes guys, and yes, it should stop me getting bored! :D

Found an Asian food specialist shop locally. Curry? Spicy food? Ingredients? My arse.

The caption writer obviously knows all about Labour.

I reckon the only reason that lot are having their big knees up in Liverpool is because we've just spent a fortune on the waterfront. If it was anywhere else the locals would have the good sense to shove a bloody great thing that goes BOOM! under the entire conference.

A massive pox on the lot of 'em.

As if any country would ever take us seriously if we sent a man called Balls to represent us

Nice telly, by the way.

That's the dealership telly, paid with using coin that I've probably earnt for them. A 12" B&W portable running on 405 lines would probably have sufficed...

When you upload to a pic hosting site, there should be a 'display settings' which should ask you how large the picture should be displayed. Most tend to pick 640x480 or something similar.
