Oh that looks nice, tell us more!

Went to see it today as the owner had taken it out the garage where it has been sat since May after failing the MOT. It fired up straight away and runs sweet as a nut despite a mileage of 112,000. Needs a couple of bits of welding, the synchromesh sorting and possibly a wheel bearing replacing, as well as some cosmetic stuff. Has a few new parts including a stainless steel exhaust and a set of radial tyres. It was his daily driver for a year!!

He already has a few interested parties in it though, including a racer who has offered £500...

Flicking through 'Retro Cars' mag in Smiths and seeing Seth's Herald. 8)

I hope to God someone from here gets that Farina, it's absolutely lush and it'd be a crime if it gets raced or pissed about with. The colour scheme is perfect and it's obviously been looked after in the past.

He's got someone from round Cambridge way coming to look at it during the week who's more than happy with the £650 asking price, although as the owner's from a Hot Rodding background it'll probably end up roller painted satin black with 99p shop skull stickers plastered over it.

(Not that I have anything against it btw, hopefully it gets turned into something special if it does go down that route)

Each to their own but it'd almost certainly look completely toss if someone did that to it. Fair enough if it was a wreck anyhow but it just looks too nice for that to happen.

I had a chuckle today at the new Innocent Smoothies ad, complete with Flash Gordon rip...

As a sort of anitdote to the grumbling about work, being a lecturer really makes me smile. Got in this morning not very motivated. Students coming in and are bouncing about because they are 107 out of 8000 teams in the country in the stock market game they are competing in.

So to tap into this I set up some team building games for them to play with just paper and sellotape. They loved it and really enjoyed this morning. Nice to see people learning and enjoying doing it. A far cry from the business bullshit I used to have to put up with :D

+1, I am also feeling the love for the Meerkovo adverts. (Although Jedward and the Confused adverts aren't quite so full of joy).

£650 looks good value for that Cambridge, I paid £750 for mine and it wasn't in nearly as nice condition and needed an absolute shedload of welding and the whole braking system replaced before it could get an MOT.

Some of us here actually LIKE a large station wagon! I think that's a little beaut, I'd have been very happy with it as my daily back in Yuk.

Of course a Falcon would have been a much better choice

Quick question - When watching British programs from the 70's and 80's (Minder in this case) is there always a lot of American cars in the background?, You never see that many American cars on the roads these days.
