Pillock Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 Not as long as you can get a £5 Bluetooth OBD dongle and a free app to reset the lights. They tend to come back on half an hour later, or as I prefer to call it "364 days, 23 hours and 30 minutes before the next MOT" stephen01, oldcars, dome and 2 others 5
cort16 Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 That was a car on the liability thread that had an advisory for “Black tape obscuring abs warning light”. Note I said advisory and not fail . Just saying like . oldcars 1
Pillock Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 I think that was older, less strict MOTs and perhaps one of the reasons it was suddenly up for sale...
Lord Sterling Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 This is gonna sound weird, but I actually like those Zafiras. They are quite pleasing in a boring, middle-of-the-road kind of way. I also think they are beginning to shed their council estate image. Yep, there you go, I said it. The secrets out. I actually like Zafiras and would happily buy one with my own hard-earned. eddyramrod Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 You know what? Me too! I used to drive a selection of them for work, starting with PE04 NNR, and they do seem to be almost adequate, which on my budget is a good score.
Cavcraft Posted August 5, 2018 Author Posted August 5, 2018 They're a hell of a lot nicer than the later ones, that's for sure.
Pillock Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Says the man coincidentally selling one. Cavcraft and stephen01 2

I used to drive a selection of them for work, starting with PE04 NNR, and they do seem to be almost adequate, which on my budget is a good score. My stepdad had a whole run of them as company cars! The day he met my mum he had a v reg one (do probably very early, especially for a fleet car) then ended on a 12 plate when his work switched to octavias for management (which he was very sad about for a few months)
Cavcraft Posted August 18, 2018 Author Posted August 18, 2018 Having a M8 with a recovery truck is ace, as is being lazy. Just scored another ST170, obvs. like it's pretty shit and I haven't actually seen it... Split_Pin, sporty-shite, Dirk Diggler and 9 others 12

phil_lihp Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 Desirable model, mind, given the headlamp washers (i.e. Xenons, comfort pack spec). If it's being squashed, how decent are the wheels? Mine are terrible.
Cavcraft Posted August 18, 2018 Author Posted August 18, 2018 Desirable model, mind, given the headlamp washers (i.e. Xenons, comfort pack spec). If it's being squashed, how decent are the wheels? Mine are terrible. I think he said they need a refurb, hopefully not as shit as the wheels on the other one, which are awful. It's a keeper (for now, at least) not a crusher.
phil_lihp Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 Must be an ST thing, looking closer they look about as crusty as mine, they seem to get surface corrosion under the paint, which then just flakes off. Cavcraft 1
Cavcraft Posted August 24, 2018 Author Posted August 24, 2018 I'm no The_Shadow, but this has happened... It's got quite a bit of MOT and an interesting* thwonk from the nearside rear over speedbumps. dome, Lacquer Peel, RobT and 8 others 11

Cavcraft Posted August 24, 2018 Author Posted August 24, 2018 Just been through the receipts and in July this year it had £170 spent on it for the MOT, plus it seems to have had two new front tyres recently.
