My 2005 Jaguar S Type - **May be on its way back**

Hi all,

This should never have happened but it has, and I don't regret it (yet).

I was in Asda the other day doing the usual food shop (as you do), all said and done went to put shopping in the car when what do I see pull in beside the Volvo?

KW51 BHV. My previous S Type.

In still, a lovely condition. Still immaculate and the sound of that V6 is enticing. Anyway I fell in love and instantly wanted another, just so happens I know someone with one for sale - so a deal has been struck. Collection to commence next weekend.

Volvo up for grabs, will use until I have the Jag MOT'd.... so if anyone is interested it'll be going cheap!

THe Jag I'm picking up is A 2005 SE Version (Facelift) 3.0 Auto.

Watch this space!!!!

(space, pace, grace ;))

I had a 4.0 Stype about 7-8 years ago , 300bhp in an old mans slipper , fantastic

I wanted an Stype R but they were daft money even then

Hnnnngg. I've got a 'Jag' itch to scratch and the S-Type ticks the boxes in terms of being relatively cheap and plentiful, and the engines/gearboxes both appear to be relatively strong. I have considered a 2.5 V6 with a manual 'box but would clearly 'settle' for a 3.0 V6 with the auto.

While I don't think one would ever fully FTP the photos of sills I've seen frighten me; even a clean one-owner-from-new example could hide all sorts of horrors.

Need better brave pills I think.

Excited is an understatement. I cant wait to get back behind the wheel of an S Type. I regret letting KW51 BHV go.

Collection hopefully on Saturday.

Insurance not bad at a measly £780 for the year.

Afraid so, Ifni hadn't of bumped I to my old S type, and a friend of mine offering me his for a good price chances are I would of kept the Volvo.

It is going cheap if anyone wants it? I'd like it to stay within Autoshite. If possible.

£150 for the years insurnace on the Volvo for a classic policy is not bad, it will be for sale in the next couple of weeks. Will be looking for around £220.

Did you just say £220 for the Volvo, or did I read that wrong?

Please put me on the list of interested parties. I would be very interested if JohnK decides that it isn't for him.

I browsed through S-Types the other day.

All three that would tick my boxes (i.e. facelift, 2.5 or 3.0, manual/auto) were advertised with full MOTs and were over £2k, and all had advisories or past failures for corrosion within prescribed area of seat belt anchorage, and other advisories for 'general underside corrosion'.

As much as I know I'd enjoy one I think I'm going to have to bottle it unless a one-owner-from-new-just-want-to-get-rid-because-emigrating-always-garaged-waxoiled example pops up for £1500 or so.

Structural rust instils TEH FEAR in me ever since my ebay-bought Mk1 MR2...

I like that (also for obvs reason of my X350 XJ with the same engine sitting outside).

RantingYoof - have a look at an X350 - they are made of Aluminium.

I don't "do" leapers but that's just one of those marmite things.
