Those eezibleed things always explode when I use them. I got an mot advisory for dampness at steering damper but it was just where my eezibleed had exploded.

Local as in Tenbury Wells, i had considered getting a quote from the bloke at Knebworth too, heard good reports about him but he no longer fits new systems, good converters are spread about pretty thinly, you could have a poke nose on http://www.lpgforum.co.uk/ for some pointers if you fancy.

Tenbury Wells chap is well recommended and has done a good number of Scoobs, proper down to earth geezer too.

I'll do an update in due course when its been running for a while.

I get my gas at Morrisons Welly, Corby indy site  near the steelworks used to be quite cheap and i will get it there if passing but its now the same price as Morrisons and with the miles card makes the latter cheaper and i pass through Welly every work day.

What's the name of the chap in Tenbury?

I took the SJ Jago out for a spin earlier, It is 100% improved with the weber now fitted :) Still runs out of puff about 65, it is fairly brick shaped though! I had forgotten how oversprung it is mind... it's like piloting a horse cart.

Roll on the better weather so I don't freeze my knackers off with the roof removed :)

I had a good day today.

Woke up in Sidcup, gave it beans through Dartford tunnel, got home, had a pot noodle, went back out, picked up my mate, fuelled up, got well into triple figures on a conveniently placed private road, went to a pub, walked in on a wake, 'who died' joke, lols all round, went to another 3 pubs that were shut, eventually found an open one, had a beer and some chips, parked in a field for photos, beached it on the exhausts, came home. Good day.

I love the Sirion. However, I've been offered something I've wanted for a long time for sod all money. Anyone want a Sirion? What's life without a few regrets?

I think I may have broken the Cavalier already. Earlier I replaced the cam cover gasket as it had a big oil leak, and also cleaned out the cam cover vent filter thingy. Being impatient I just used some fuel injector cleaner I had lying about rather than parrafin like wot Haynes says to do. Popped it all back together and took if for a run locally. It was running really well until the engine check light came on and I coasted to a stop on a double yellow just past a roundabout. Bugger! Can't leave it here or I'll get a ticket in the morning.

It's a busy road even at 9pm, but with parking, so I ran up to find a spot 300 yards away and came back to start pushing the fucker up towards it. Hazards on plus lights yet they cane it at 40 along there even though it's a 30 so was feeling a bit vulnerable. No one stopped to help of course, not even the few peds who walked past, bunch of cunts. I'll go back and try to start it in the morning in the vain hope that my bodgery hasn't ruined it. Am a bit annoyed as I've been really enjoying the old thing, to the point of going for drives just for the sake of it. Fucking cunty bollocks, I am a twat.

Brilliant, don't even need to remove the wheel as the beads already seperated, squirt of fairy liquid (or Lidl's own if you're tight like me) as lube, level tyre off lever/lump hammer back on another, inflate, job done.

Managed to book this Thursday and Friday off work at very short notice, in order to have a long weekend doing Volvoish things. It pays to have a manager who is an old car enthusiast :)

Pawnote: I'll be collecting the Wentworth (Wentwoof?) from Woking on Friday morning. Thread detailing my adventures to follow shortly afterwards.

The Kiev Express lives!got the sticking caliper sorted on Sunday, and the cleaned interior back in it.

I think this weekend I'll tackle the rust:) nothing structural, but needs doing.

then its cambelt and service time-I may pull the lump out to do that, we'll see!

Hopefully get it taxed and insured at the end of the month, then lots of driving:)

Pintara glass.

Finally found some (-in Adelaide) ,which went in the post to me yesterday.

As an after thought, he told me to expect it in 3 months!

3 months?  It takes a car 6 weeks -are they issuing it with a canoe, paddle & compass?

Back to the Perspex, I guess..

Dug this out from the back of the shed & been having a bit of a hoon .

Id' forgotten how much fun it is;  although there does seem to be a tad more smoke than I remember.    Hope it''ll clear before the AK (mot)  later this afternoon.

Once legal I 'm in tow minds, whether to sell, or bring it back to the UK for a few months- just to piss the feds off.

Bother. My bank balance is rather unhealthy. Buying a 'bargainous' big Citroen that needs taxing ain't going to happen.

A right mixed day yesterday.

Got to the NEC early doors to collect various yad for the PC boys. I'd left my truck in the secure parking for the exhibitors to save running around empty and the train was dead cheap. Lots of other trucks, trailers, 4WDs etc there and mine looked a fine sight in the bright morning sunshine but once I'd climbed in I noticed half the fucking diesel had gone. A peek underneath and sure enough the tank cap had been 'got at' and was AWOL. Luckily I had a spare, non-locking cap in the toolbox that the previous owner had left in the cab. I think whoever nicked the fuel had a couple of jerry cans as fortunately they didn't rape the tank dry. So much for saving a few quid, at least the NEC parking was free (about the only bit there that is).

Anyway the rest of the day went busily, last run was to Sam Glover's with the Tarpan.

After loading up the Dacia which has been acquired by Edd I had a guided tour of just some of the Glover fleet. Just fabulous

Then on the M6 at about 9pm I had a feckin' blow out!! No problem think I, got the spare down, nuts loose, jacked up... could I get the wheel off... could I fuck. Highways wombles didn't have any suitably large hammers so I ended up calling the AA, who sent a local tyre dude out with a big sledge that did the trick. Arrived home 2am! Luckily just a day doing paperwork and stuff today.

You had a lot to contend with yesterday mr s! Glad it all worked out in the end. Did you get chance to have a look round the show amongst dealing with all that?

I had a quick look on Friday, even by 8am yesterday most stuff had gone!

What a lovely day. I've been screaming around, terrorising tourists.

My only concern is, can it really still be this pleasant in a month's time?

Put the Beetle on Craigslist, now suffering the barrarge of daft questions like "how many miles?" and what is the lowest price you will take.

My favourite was a lady who came to see it and said the engine sounds rattly (VW Diesel).

http://jackson.craigslist.org/cto/4422173397.html

I now realise why VW did not offer the TDI with an auto box in Europe, it is definately not a good combo, it ruins the economy and after a few miles the shift quality is how can I put it "variable".

You could have the old 1.9TDI with an autobox too, in almost every model. But thankfully, nobody bought them. 8)

I had never seen one when I lived in the UK, Diesel doesnt make a lot of sense here either, its much more expensive that regular gas (petrol)

at the local Kroger   $3.39 Gal Regular   $3.71 Gal Diesel

My cable arrived today for the Volvo diagnostic software.

VOLVO_SCREENSHOT_1.jpg

It took some major faffing to get it installed on the laptop but the cable worked perfectly once the drivers were installed. The Service light is now extinguished and as far as I can tell everything is healthy.

Just been to look at the Cavalier, it broke itself although I may have been a bit to blame. A connector which must be the engine management thing had come loose, and the brittle plastic has broken so it won't connect securely. So I'll fashion a gaffer tape cable tie bodge later. Result! Shame I didn't notice last night as I think I ruptured something pushing the fugger 300 yards on my own.

How much did someone pay him to take those crap Saab wheels off their hands, even pictured the wrong way down a telescopic lens they look gash.

406 could make a nice motor again, nasty bloody whack on the NSF mind.

Well the Scenic is still getting me happily to and from work, although it is smoking quite a bit from cold.  I noticed last week that it was putting out a puff of blue smoke when accelerating away for the first time after a cold start.  Today I looked in the mirror on the way to work and it was smoking merrily away.  Don't know if I just hadn't noticed it before (the sun was shining on the back of the car this morning so smoke was probably more visible than it had been) or if it's got worse.  Once the car was up to temperature the smoke disappeared.  It's also using a bit of oil (seems to be about a litre every 300 miles so far, although it's hard to tell exactly without a dipstick).

I don't think it's the turbo seals as I pulled an air intake pipe off the front of the engine and there was hardly any oil in there; I don't think it's the rings as the smoke disappears once the engine's warm.  There's no sign of oil in the water or vice versa either.  My suspicion is the valve stem oil seals - seems to be quite a common issue with the 1.5 DCi from what I've read on the interwebz.  I'm going to try putting some of that Wynn's snake oil in there to see if it has any effect on the smokeage; otherwise I'm just going to continue using it as it is for now.  It doesn't seem to have any effect on the running of the engine and there's no loss of power, and I have quite a stock of oil as I bought up the entire stock of my local Tesco's 15/40 turbo diesel oil when they had it reduced to 2 quid a can last year.

Still, at least it proves that the old adage "third time lucky" is a load of bollocks...

If you keep buying them one of them has to be good sooner or later. It can't rain all the time etc. A litre per 300 miles sounds like a pretty serious smoking problem.
