They natural or a result of 'rewilding'?

I think there’s a problem when no local group comes forward to organise, at last minute the committee have to find something and it wasn’t quite as suitable for 2CVGB as it could be.  It there’s a bar and lots of people we know, can’t complain really

I helped organise the 2003 meeting in west London with our local group. It was so much effort it basically killed the club spirit as it wasn’t fun.

It/they have come from somewhere else, I guess from the east. So natural.

And hunting permits have been issued and that can also lead to wolf lovers from the cities coming and trying to sabotage the hunt.

This has the potential to become a shit show.

'Fraid not - 'tis a trendy thing.
We've had advocates for re-introducing wolves and bears (!) over this way - that'll work given that there's nothing here for them to eat other than..

sheep and lambs (and maybe my horses)

I’ve no idea, but how large are they? Small dog, large dog or escaped wearwolf?

Camping at the 2CV club National event, someone played a blinder with the weather

Enjoy!
We didn’t book this year, partly because of thecost, but mainly because small children meaning we can’t really enjoy bar/bands related fun in the evenings and runs are less easy too… until my parents offered to have the kids for the weekend but by that point bookings had closed… if we’d been able to just rock up like usual we would have been there.

I do think it’s great the committee stepped up to arrange it in the absence of a local group tho! We’re gutted not to be there.

Quick check, normal weight 30 to 50kg and 70 to 80cm tall. But a wolf of 65 kg have been shot in the past so they can get bigger.

Think big (old fashioned) German Shepherd dog that needs a good feeding up. Belgium and Holland are getting a few wandering over from Bavaria and you see crap like this:

They eat things in woods; UK farmers don't graze their animals in woods(mainly because the UK has so little woodland, but that's another issue), so it would be a non-issue for the UK . The UK has maybe 2m feral deer when the biome can support perhaps half that without damage, lots of rabbits etc., there's lots for wolves to eat and we need them to eat them because the deer and other unpredated herbivores are fucking the environment.

Temporary one in!

This V70 D5 has come to stay for a couple of weeks… or maybe longer I’m not sure. We’ll see. Seems to wear its 200k well and bar the “engine service required” warning and a couple of bits of missing trim it seems pretty decent. I walked the three miles to do a collection… not sure I’ve done a walking collection before.

Probably not

The oddest of odd blokes. When I mentioned this out loud I got absolutely fucking piled on to.

Then, when the internet gave this loon £20k of free money, he thought he was fucking invincible.

Verdict: don’t further empower the mentally ill. Recommend professional help. Money should not be sent, just as the purchase of amphibious Alvis vehicles should be actively discouraged.

Thanks. That pic was taken by Danny himself at Rustival in March!

Speaking of Volvos, the S60 round the corner from me that I ogle almost daily is for sale.

No price and no MOT though.

But it is a manual. And Gold.

Can forward the phone number for anyone who is interested, but I don't think the MOT will be a breeze.

Lots of unhappy friends unable to get oasis tickets.

I am beginning to think I am the only person in the country that doesn't rate them.

Don't worry, you're not alone. I am completely nonplussed at all the attention they're getting. I can see why the NME might make a big thing about it but the fact it's been the main story on the main BBC news for about three days running, and probably will be today too, is just crazy. They weren't that good and all their songs sound the same and Liam is a twat.

They're no Blur are they?

Oooh - that resurrects the old media hype Blur vs Oasis ;-) [Blur - hands down - obs]

I had the good* fortune to have Radio 1 on in the Sproglette's car last night when I was trundling along in it - apparently I was listening to Dance Party followed by Future Dance. The latter had some catchy little ditties but, in between those, Sarah Storey was banging on about Blur this, Blur that, tickets, albums now in the Top 40, singles now in the Top 40. Everybody loves Blur it would seem.
The whole thing is coming across as a total media hype aimed squarely at the age demographic that Storey is in (she was born 1989).

They missed the great* Blur first time around and now they can play catch up. La Sproglette was also born in 1989 and she's gone and got tickets for Cardiff £185 each (!) - hotels are either fully booked up already or silly prices. Everybody is making money.
I know I'm a bit of a cynical bastard at times but this whole thing is a bit bonkers.

I thought Blur were better. I suspect much of the demand is people in their 40's and 50's wanting to travel back to a time before the world turned to shit.

My first proper gig was Oasis at Irvine Beach in the mid 90s. I was well over them by 1998 though so needless to say I'll not be going to see them this time

This is mildly baffling; neither were even tweens when Blur were active, never mind in their pomp. What are they being nostalgic about? I found Oasis meh 30 years ago and still do, Liam is the same obnoxious prick he's always been. There were betterer jangly guitar bands then and there are betterer ones now.

Going to see Alice Cooper and Deep Purple later in the year.

"It's retro, innit?"

I have no idea. Why does anything go 'viral'?  Oasis were hyped in their day by the media - this time around helped by social media and, dare I suggest, a very active marketing/management?
Four 'surprise' 'extra' dates announced? Yeah sure.

Today's car news:
I actually washed two whole cars, all by myself without nurse. Also cut a vent hole in the cab roof of the van (gulp):
