Still don't... Sodding thing. Was leaving it to go down to 0 and give it a second change after doing it earlier in the year, and was going to wait for the SERV light to come on and make a joke like Toosavvy did about his savvy warranty, and how for once a gooner owner was expecting a warning light to come on... Stupid thing hasn't put its SERV light on, and I've done 7 miles at 0...

Its going to have to wait now anyway, can't afford oil and a filter this month. It's only been 5,234 miles since I last did it but I wanted to do 2 fairly quick changes before ignoring it for the rest of the year

So what ya saying is the service indicator is broken too?

Posted

It would appear possibly so. I'm scared to investigate it now incase other bulbs don't work. Since it flew through the mot last year I'm not fucking risking it!

The serv light didn't come on with the spanner service warning on mine either. Knowing the frogs it probably lights serv when it sees a drive through with window service or something.

It comes on with the ignition on. Was fully expecting it to come on at 0 miles

Mine just started counting up from zero to tell me how far I'd missed the service by.

No idea what the serv light is for really.

^^ this. It won't come on when you need a service. STOP means stop now - I.e. Danger, Will Robinson. SERV means go to a service centre (aka garage) when you are able to.

So Matt LeBlanc is leaving Top Gear and won’t appear in the series after the upcoming one.

Who do we think is going to take his place?

Because Renault, I'm sure those warning light clusters are just wired up to a random number generator and have no actual connection to the mechanical bits of the car.

Did anyone go to the howmanyleft show at the transport museum at the weekend?

Yup.

Might go to Fraserburgh this Sunday too. Look out for the shabby green E36 coupe.

Was it a good show? Always mean to try and get to it. Any photos?

I’ve just driven the 2cv 200 miles to north wales and am now enjoying a beer in the garden. Being on holiday is a pain;-)

The joys of modern car ownership!

The wife's boring modern Punto has killed it's alternator, so a very nice RAC fellow recovered her back to the house.

Now muggins here has got to try to get enough charge in it to limp it round to my tame mechanic. (Bloody thing has air con, so it's a subframe drop to access the alternator)

In the mean time, Romania's finest is doubling up as an oversized jump pack!51e0339c47bfb1dcc59854f55290d90a.jpg

Just after visiting Brodie Engineering to be given the news that a replacement CX automatic box (which they don't have in stock) will cost £900 in labour charges alone.....

Not tried Chevronics (bound to be expensive).

Have heard of Stan Platts, but not a member of the CCC, so don't know where he is.

Not heard of Wolsey House before.

Nice to see a Hyundai Stellar out in the wild next to a much more common SM.  Wait... *peers at screen*... maybe it's a Talbot Tagora.  WHO KNOWS?

the council tip .... whats a load of jobsworths !  , every time they move the JCB , out comes the stop sign , no one can get in or out , and its like 20 mins of waiting .....and the JCB is in the middle of the compound away from the public

and when you get in ... big logs of tree wood is not wood for the wood skip , its garden rubbish for the garden rubbish skip ???...

and the traffic issue , there is going to be a big accident one day !

and then when I came out to the main road ... I nearly lost my front end to a fuck wit who was overtaking the traffic to come in ,,,, and he beeped me !
