You fuckin' what, mate?

Morons.

Ben

They are making quantities that automotive would see as prototype levels which use bits of equipment spread all over the factory so that the parts probably do 100 miles from start to finish.

productionisation = Industrialise the prototype build.

operation(al) excellence = Bull shit term for applying lean and six sigma = bullshit terms for applying good work study (and industrial engineering) and statistical analysis of results and removing risks due to shit equipment and shit methods, so you can make decent parts with decent equipment and measure them correctly so you know they are good.

Interesting thing I've just been told elsewhere.

To clean old blocked catalytic converters, put them in a bucket of water & washing powder over night.

Consider yourself lucky you got rejection feedback, even if it is management jargon.

Absolutely. My response was polite, but I pointed out that I my feedback was the exact opposite, so either I'm completely deluded* and can't read the signs very well, or they are making a very poor excuse.

Back when I had a 2 stroke, we filled the exhaust with caustic soda, put bungs in each end and left it 24 hours.

I find ringing the scrap cat buyers works better ;) I'm not actually sure if that will work, I guess it may

Hold on lads. I think we've got a new T-shirt slogan for Autoshite.

Excellence can fuck right off.

I'm thinking

^^^^^ People as 'Apps'..... Or am I misreading the 'simplistics' here?

I offer myself up for 'contracting' so am aware of 'the premium/facility' of just 'getting the job done!'

My ranger has recently been found to have a cracked cylinder head and it has run out of Mot.

I have been offered a swap for a yamaha xt350 in running order.

My head is saying do the swap but my heart is saying no.

They are a low volume high precision aerospace component supplier.

They have a "High" volume product / sub assembly that they need to ramp up from 500 a year to 2000 a year.

They need someone to design and implement an appropriate production cell, which may or may not require new equipment and processes.

As a Chartered Manufacturing Engineer, I would go back to basics and apply traditional industrial engineering to it. Document the mess they have, and come up with something that is better.  I would use a few "tools" from work study, lean and six sigma, but try to avoid using too many buzz words like Kaizen and Kanban, but essentially it's just doing the job that a manufacturing engineer should be doing. If it turns out they need new equipment I would justify it using a combination of smoke mirrors, man maths and vague assumptions, and go out, find appropriate suppliers and get it designed, and tested, and implemented and train the operators and do the risk assessments.

To me this is just like being a MGF Mechanic, and replacing the head gasket on a an elise with a K series, whilst using the manual off a Freelander.

What you need is a nice reliable modern motor to put your mind at ease.

I've a 2016 Abarth 595 for sale, I could even deliver it to you if you're feeling wobbly. Don't worry, I'll run you to the bank too.

Cue Billy frantically going through his stock book, perspiration beading on his forehead whilst Barbara Cartland Dog spins around at his feet, excitedly....

You need to read the small print on the Cavcraft warranty ....

or I can save you the time .... No.

Is it not a requirement that you be not of sound mind to purchase from the Cavcraft Emporium?  You have to be at least slightly unhinged otherwise he gets suspicious and goes all Bristol Motors on you.

Can't wait for it turn up as clocked on another thread in years to come.

I really don't know. At least it's an obvious mistake (what Fiat Panda is ever going to make it to 800k), if it was 181478 it might be more of a problem.

You have to be a bit of a tit to manage that as it prompts you if the mileage covered is significantly higher than the previous year.

The Volvo has another punctured tyre. Not impressed:

I'm glad that it's in the repairable part of the tyre, or I'd be even less impressed...

Had HID fitted to improve the vectra's yankee candles.

Waiting for it to go dark.
