Yokohama bluearths fitted to the front of the Fusion this morning, and initial thoughts are much quieter. Toe in also adjusted, as quite a bit out.

This lived round the corner from me until it vanished recently. I wondered where it had gone! Just popped up on facefriend.

It seemed canny. The arch embelishers are recent, the actual arches looked fine. It was used sparingly till the start of the winter then parked in the garden. Id love to have a bid on it, it looks too sweet on slutmags. #blueforum #scene

Mrs Owd C finished work early yesterday to take her car to local Mazda dealer for a service (I hate the thing, wont touch it). When she picked it up she then went half a mile down the road to get some odds n ends from the store.

I got a phone call 20mins later..............can you come and get me.

Dead as a doornail.

Had a bit of a too-doo on a Bentley forum (facebook group) as I mentioned I had Mobil 1 0w40 put in it. Chap insisted that this was the wrong oil and I will kill my can and followers in the next 2 days use. So I re-checked with Mobil, yep, right oil. Bloke will not have it. Finally went and looked in the owners handbook and there in the official RR book it says Mobil 1 is a recommended lubricant. That finally seems to have quieted him down.

Likewise - I had a set fitted to my ex-Almera and they were brilliant. So much so I was moved to write a review of them on Tyre Reviews:

I R JURNALYST

As I do only 6-7k a year in this and the car is 15 year's old on original clutch, I'm content that the wear might not be a big problem!

Good write up!

Sorry to ask this on here but what happened to "Giffer rust free Rover 400" seen in Bexhill. Got a few 'likes' on there but the thread seems to have disappeared.

Someone's merge-happy lately it seems. It isn't an issue but some sort of notice like replacing the thread with 'moved to xxxxx' would be nice.

We are trying to tidy up a bit - putting for sale threads that aren't the sellers into the tat thread, things in SQA.

Unfortunately when you merge threads it isn't possible to keep the old one to say why.

To balance my unnatural liking or Citroen's Slowsilver placed a Maxi on my drive!

Collection transport booked for tomorrow, I do hope nearly 6 hours on a National Express coach is worth it...I think it is.

That's a bit pants, it was possible on both forums I've been admin/mod on in the past.

Since the Fusion wheel alignment yesterday the steering wheel is now slightly out of whack. It's not pulling either way, but a bit annoying! Spose I'll have to go back.

Posted

They did that to my Saab when I got it tracked tuesday. Rather than go back n argue I tweaked it myself & it's just right now.

If you feel like it the trick is to do both sides the same amount & 1 flat on the trackrod seems to be worth about 1/2" of movement at the steering wheel rim - varies a bit per car of course.

Just in case anyone local is looking for something to do on Sunday we are having a all day meet at Shotley Marina.

The "really complicated" headlight issue on the Volvo appears to have been solved by, wait for it........  fitting new bulbs.

Now I'm pretty sure the PO tried this, as there were no bulbs in situ when I got it (but a blown one in the glovebox), plus he seemed like a fairly common-sense chap. I'm therefore expecting them to fail again at any moment, most likely when I'm approaching a dodgy B-road corner at 11pm in the pouring rain.

The centre brake light also needs a new bulb, but when I went to change it in the car park, I found that the smallish cover was in fact held on with 2 zipties and 2 self-tappers. I sense a giffer in the history somewhere.

I invested £15 in an audio upgrade for the Volvo today.

Nice - didn't Alpine make the top-end Volvo stereos during the 90s?

Thanks for posting that up. I am not doing anything on Sunday, so hopefully should be able to make it down there to have a look around.

Collection stage 1 complete - dash up to ECP on the bike for a coolant cap, hopefully it will fit. Now on the National Express waiting to leave Barnstaple for Heathrow (for connection on to train, not flying!).

It's a beautiful day for it, just as well as the collectee has some wiper issues. A bottle of RainX is in the pack, adding to a slightly strange assortment of items.
