That shot of the 1200 looks like it could have been taken in Australia.

Just South Norfolk.

Just had Flying Spares on again, they have sorted it out and another one is being sent direct to arrive tomorrow. Pretty good service, but, to be honest, if they had messed me around in the slightest (after the picture request) I would have cancelled the transaction. Serious amount of 'Buyers remorse' as they really are MASSIVELY over-priced.

Picked up my ride for the Xmas hols the other day.

It's a low mileage special

Just had a new 2.7 tdv6 fitted as the other one shat it's crank. Not bad for 357k though had a good run given there reputation.

There is a strong smell of gear oil when your in its presence.

It's a bugger to start and stop due the very un smart smart key. Got two of the buggers with new battery's in. It's a lottery to how long it takes before it starts.

It's got no dipstick you have to check the oil on board. Whenever I am luckily enough to get the ignition to come on and not start it, it says not available.

What's the blue badge on the grill?

It's some kind of Volvo badge from what I can make out in this photo. Mrs Foad has the car at the moment so I can't go and look.

I would love to try a Discovery of any age (to keep) but they either seem to dissolve in front of your eyes, or something self grenades.

Got a good working* arrangement on the 'lingo yesterday, I can lock the driver's door from the inside and the passenger door from the outside, plus unlock driver's door from outside. Obviously that lasted twice, now I have to lock both doors from the inside, climb through the back and then lock the back doors.

Ok.... So the MG ZT has now got a new starter motor, as well as a rear suspension rebuild, new water pump, timing belts, idler pulley, oil and filters, paint work rectification, four new tyres, four new discs, all brake pads replaced, replacement carpets, stainless steel exhaust, alloy wheels refurbished, new key remote, new fuel filler flap locking thingy, replacement cup holder, reversing sensors, handbrake shoes, thermostat assembly, alternator v drive belt and a new windscreen.

What else will it need soon? Place your bets....

Luckily the company paid for it.

Its going to be sold on, was £6017 for a new short block then it needed, a compressor for the air suspension £880 then an actuator for the transfer box £££ etc etc. Got another coming after xmas this time a 3.0 instead of the 2.7, similar mileage. The service history with this thing is immense, proper big spending to keep it going. Like if it was your money, you would cry.

Inside it it amazing how good condition it is in, considering the mileage, ebay bullshit alert, it looks like a 50 thousand miler inside, no actually it does. Its a good job its white as it hides how flat and sandpaper like the paint is.

I can well imagine the paperwork that would accompany it!

High mileage like that is always impressive and I believe there's a lot to be said for it, if it was shit, it wouldn't still be on the road. :-)

Might as well set fire to your money if you are buying a disco.

We also have a 06 plate one, has a hesitation, two specialist's we took it too advised they would need to remove the body to get at the fuel pump to investigate the problem.

Yeah ta mate we will live with it thanks.

Cheer up Bren! What's the ride like on those alloys then?

I'd have a Disco 3. Roll the dice!

:-( Its a Kia Cerato. RIP little car  :-(

Bit worried as well that the strap to the rear wheel may mark the paint on the sill a little.

We had a D3,got to the point where Every journey was spent awaiting the Bong Bong Bongs as it decided it wasn't happy with somethings else ....

A quick off/on with the ignition would reset everything but it wasn't doing the wifes stress levels any good

Fantastic piece of kit though and I'd have another, but only if I could afford £200 a month for repairs........

On new rubber - surprisingly good. When they are worn? I expect the whites of my eyes to turn red.

What that needs is a nice Perkins engine fitting.

The fiat dealer pack I bought on eBay arrived today. Lots of period stuff, leaded info, and this price sheet if anyone is interested.

A base spec 1992 saab 9000cs. Note placca trims and what would be ( in a different body colour) non colour coded bumpers. Pretty rare as most survivors are " aero" turbos with all the toys. Just reallised I owned k591ajh, a classic shape 900 lpt convertible, also in black, in about 2002. They probably shared forecourt space as new cars!
