How about Shitefest 2018 norf which I won't pretend to attend as the usual weekend thing + welcome home 'party' one day event in Kent for our overseas adventurers?

I'd like to do The North again. It's been a while since KruJoe and Will hosted it. Has their village recovered yet?

Will has left the country, though I'm sure* SF had nothing to do with it...

Scotoshite have been in discussion for months regarding this topic. Problem is we all live in the city / big towns and we don't know anyone with a spare field for the weekend.

We are collectively trying to find if there's any motor museums or similar with camping facilities similar to the Llangollen Motor Museum and Bubblecar Museum but there's quite simply naff all up here like that.

^ I'm thinking I'll get a word with a mate of mine on Sunday about the East Neuk. He lives out there, and if anyone will know who's up for lending us a field, or what village facilities might be bookable, he'll know.

With the Mondeo's fuel usage it would genuinely be cheaper for me to get a flight to Exeter and to ask you to pick me up, then we go to Cornwall in your car.

just pick a date

if ya cant make it then cant be helped - ask 500 people youll get 500 different answers

Doesn't one of the svm own a bus station?

Car camping at Borrheid?  :D

Posted

Dunno If I'll make it to Scotland (I'll try).

But for sheer effort in previous years, the SVM and the other Scottish shitters deserve it.

We don't need to be resident at a museum. We've had a couple of Shitefests like that, but plenty that were just a field somewhere. Any pubs with camping? Sorts meals out for the lazy then too.

Yeah in a way not having a museum on site is better as it means we get an excuse to convoy to the nearest attraction. The trip to the fish and chip shop and engine museum was one of the best bits of SF14 for me.

Any recommendations for a decent pub with camping nearish that Scottish bus museum?

You read my mind! I think Scotland's a good idea as it's only fair seeing that SVM always travel down here but personally I'll probably give it a miss as it really is a long way from here, especially if I took one of my oldes and I'll have two very young children by that point. I'll keep an eye on the thread and see nearer the time.

I didn't go round the bubble car museum in the end, too much fun on the field!

There's nothing much of anything near there. Although it's reminded me of another option...

Might be easier to do a shiteday where all corners of the shiteglobe get together and broadcast in the style of Hubnut TV

Well, the MO made it all the way down from Dunfermline, so it will go back up aswell. The roads are fantastic in the North. Anywhere Northumberland, Borders, north Lake District are all great.
