I'd mention it down the local nick, as its a DEAD CERT some poor cunt near your would-be log book purchaser is about to have their white mk4 Escort pinched.

No need to send the logbook off to dvla, just do it online, then the buyer won't wonder where the scrapped/exported bit has gone from the logbook, just make a note of the doc ref number.

I was thinking about speaking to my (fellow petrolhead) copper mate to see if anything can be done.. The blokes ebay name has FORD in it.. I wonder how many of his Fords he legally came by..

What's the point? What are you supposed to do with the rest of it once he's bought the logbook? It's a ridiculous question. Surely the only possible deal is that he buys the car and gets the log book free with it, or just fucks off to bother someone else.

Send him the logbook complete in the post after taking payment then use the doc ref number (handily scribbled down beforehand) to apply for another logbook in your name. Not sure he’d be able to grass you up to trading standards or anything.

Look, I just did it again (after repairing the headlight switch in a most unorthodox way, a way I`m frankly ashamed of) so I've got tail lights, a plate light & front sidelights now.. Thats after vowing I wasnt gonna waste any time on the thing  

 

Maybe I should try & get an MOT on the thing..
