Just returned from a day out in Sussex and Kent-beautiful! The sun was out and the cider was excellent! May I give an unashamed 'plug' for the Uckfield Traction Engine Show? Good! It's on 4th & 5th June, at Tinkers' Field (!) The following shots were taken in Tunbridge Wells earlier this evening-boy, these machines are truly amazing!!!

Classic car show at Renishaw Hall, South Yorkshire, this Wednesday, 9th June. From 3pm 'til 8pm, I think. It was rained off last year, but was a superb show the year before that.

Deva Dubs 'n' Rods is quite a chilled show, as the name suggests it's a nice mix of VW and your more regular rods.

 

Shrewsbury, weekend after this (12th/13th). £25 for the weekend - not astonishingly cheap, but there's a lot of show there. You'd probably need to be into volkswagens though.

What type of day is it?

it's a 'run what ya brung' type track day. £200 I think and you can spend all day thrashing whatever motor you like around the track.

 

My mate has this Golf with a 2.0 Audi engine and he's just bought a Porsche track car.

Dukeries Rally is on tomorrow for those in the Nottinghamshire region....

 

Starts early doors at Southwell Racecourse, straight to Blidworth, Sherwood Pines, Watchwood and back to Sherwood Pines. They're the spectator stages, there's also some "closed" stages but, like, they're around public footpaths and stuff so I guess you take your chances. I know they're doing Harlow Wood and Thieves Wood.

 

I'll be heading off to Thieves Wood to get some pictures. There's a pre-1981 class to add interest for us lot.

Anyone fancy the Thornes Park Show in Wakefield

 

Its from about 5pm-ish Friday 2nd July.

 

Its usually a good laugh, as Rt Hon D. Hirst and Jon 'Dugong' Watanabe Esq will attest to.

 

 

Probably look at doing similar to last year, meet at Redbeck about an hour before, then have a cruise through town and try park in a disorganised gaggle not too close to anyone else.

 

I think its about 3quid per car.

Audlem (nr Nantwich, Cheshire) Festival of Transport is on this Sunday (20th June)

 

I'll be there in the Escort, it's pre-book only for the display as Audlem is a small place.

 

Cars meet on the green in Hankelow from 10am and then there is a procession from Hankelow down to Audlem at 12.30. It was a great day in 08, last year it pissed down.

 

Oh, and it's free by the way.
