NEC Classic Car Show - November

Has anyone got a discount code for tickets. Neither of the car clubs I'm with are attending so no codes.

If anyone is willing to share openly or PM me one that would be greatly appreciated.

Trade day ftw.

The NEC is the only show I do now. Consistently excellent. tons to see, folk to chat to and a big bag with loads of old brochures and mags.

WNTL?

I'll be going but the code only gets a quid or so off so it's no biggie

Especially when a sandwich costs £100 and a pint is £250

I got in a mood last year as cars were selling for astronomical amounts - so I'll be avoiding the auction area this year just to keep my spirits up.  Last year I felt poor !

Who's going from here?

I'm Sat for definite, possibly Fri too, although not looking likely at this point.

I met 17_Coffees and Supernaut last year; it was a good day out. I think we saw dollywobbler too.

I don't think 17_Coffees and Supernaut are making the same pilgrimmage this year. I may go, but it won't be a quieter trade day obviously.

What's special about Friday? The tickets are quite a bit more pricey!

The riff-raff aren't in so you don't have to trip over them to take pictures.

Probably be there on Friday, it's a bit quieter and doesn't mess my weekend up. If anyone is there and heading south towards Stanky then I have a FIAT 500 engine in need of shitlying in his direction if possible.

I'm going on Saturday, I'll be on the 924 Owners Club stand. Feel free to come over and make comments about underpowered van engines at the wrong end.

I'm going on Sunday and will do a stint on the Renault Alpine Stand. I'll be the big tall guy with glasses who has ironed his polo shirt over a wok if you fancy a natter.

Found the code CSCMS15 from a 2015 forum post but it didn't work. However CSCMS17 seems to work and gave 2 quid off a ticket...

Not sure which club discount it's for though!

My tickets are booked and confirmed for Sunday and going with the FiL.

Anyone know of stands worth viewing or taking a look at as a priority?

Haven't enjoyed it for years, I'm afraid.
I'm going because I have to.

Hard to say. I find the entire show rather joyous. It's tricky to get round it all in a day. Mind you, that's probably because I spend so much time chatting to folk...

Too expensive, too crowded, too manic, appalling lighting. I like the autojumble but haven't been able to spend any time there for three years on the trot.

I'd rather be in my garage making the Subaru work.

I love the NEC on press day. Not too crowded, loads to see, folks to catch up with/avoid in the press office, two big carrier bags rammed with old mags and brochures.

I agree with the lights, had a splitting headache after coming out, was fun driving the 300 odd miles home.

In a surprising change of plans, I’m now going along on Saturday. I will be looking for spares support and group therapy relating to unpopular models of Lancia, Renault, Talbot and Lotus (see sig) plus Mk2 Granadas.

Friday isn't strictly NEC press day. I'd love it if it was.

I am welching out, I have decided I just can't stomach the £50 cost for me and my dad to go to this, I'm just too skint!!! FFS man.
