This place looks like it may be good for dinner after the buses. Not been there personally though, just based on a google of nearby pubs.

 

Went to the C**t and Trumpet a few times many years ago, good pub, will need to check when they serve on Sunday evenings as some places are 12 to 3, and 7 to 9 only

It's strange how the local nickname sticks in my memory.

I used to attend a monthly 2CV meet at the Coach and Horses. Seemed ok then, but this was about 15 years ago...

 

I like the sound of this plan very much, so I hope to be there.

Just phoned them and they stop taking food orders at 16:15 on a Sunday so Sloth's suggestion is probably better.

 

First time I ever quoted myself I think.

Last went there in the early 90's. Ended up with a cracked tooth and eventually a gap.

I suggested at a Glossop meet if anyone's coming from the north west, a few of us might like to go in the Volvo?

I fancy this for a day out - might even investigate a hotel for the Sunday night to allow beer. Anyone need a lift from Congleton (or anywhere en route) and back on the Monday morning?

Yup! Needs must this time, doing a pick up at the Hydro the same night I leave for this. On the plus side, Tebay fruit slice at 5am and NO KIDNEY STONES!!!

For anybody who really can't wait there is another railway museum closing.  The Bishops Castle Railway Museum is open this weekend for the last time and despite living locally I've never been.  I did join the society recently though so am likely to be stewarding there on Saturday morning and operating the model railway.

Seeing as we're a fortnight away, perhaps it would be good to get a list of folk known to be going mainly so we can book for dinner after the trains and buses. Looking like it'll be The Red Lion in Alvechurch so I'll edit the main post with the action plan.

I have a serious grievance with the admin of this forum, they have give Mrs6C typing rights so she has added herself to the list!
