Can confirm, those Mazdas are GR9.The lad had one for a while, and despite some really harsh treatment and no tlc at all, it never missed a beat.

I believe this is an early enough example to have the relatively unsophisticated engine management system that allows transplanting into RWD vehicles using the original ECU.

If there was ever a car that needed me to win the auction and then rock up with a mobile fragging machine, it's that Westlife Punto.Imagine the look on the lass's face as the bonnet was spat out into a skip as tiny shards of metal. Obv I'd tell her I was going to put it in a Westlife museum when I put a bid in, and wrap it in towels and shit like that.
