Certain revs? Sounds like a knackered variator to me... unfortunately, that's about the best possible scenario...

Yeah there are (what seem like at least) good cheap cars on a daily basis. Which sucks big time - that 405 would defo be mine if i wasnae so terminally skint...

Wow it's still got two hubcaps left!! They're usually all gone. You know, I don't think I'd bother with a diesel one if I wasn't running it on vegetable oil or doing lots of miles. The petrol XUs are nice engines and thrifty enough.

Simply delete chrome arches and drive this car around, to effortlessly achieve ULTIMATE TURBO MEGA WIN POWER 5.

I don't think it'd be quite as easy as that somehow, I suspect if you remove the arches, it would then have no arches. Just a load of great big rotten holes!

I dont understand why they got that far and then stopped and are now selling it? Did the rather large penny drop?

I think it shares the same engine as Sambas, 104s and early 205s. Fitting a TU or XU engine would involve some major work.

Yeah its one of those flat-on-its-back suitcase engines. A right pain in the balls to do owt with.

Now I'd roll in this bad boy, ST170 engine with RS1600i bits, £2000 doesn't sound to overpriced neither but I'd have to fit better looking wheels, Something like the old 7 spoke RS ones that came on the RS1600i would be nice.
