£75 Anyone want to save an 04 Clio? Hasn't been serviced in 40k miles, must be collected Saturday

On the absurdly remarkable off-chance someone might actually have a use for / wants to save from scrap a base spec Clio that hasn't been serviced since before we bought it in August 2015/>40k miles ago, here is your chance.

Going to scrap soon so he's only expecting scrap value, about £75. About 3 weeks MOT, runs, drives and probably burns oil although I don't think it smokes. 140k miles or something. Haven't done a compression test so who knows what lack of servicing has done for it. Probably gets topped up enough that the oil is kind fresh but I don't know. Or care really.

1149cc 8v petrol, manual.

TL;DR: It's an abused POS, stuff probably doesn't work but it does go.

Located near Dumfries.

Edit: Needs to be collected Saturday afternoon only. Insurance lapses and goes to scrap that afternoon if no collection arranged.

Had it been a badermatic I would have been tempted.

I do have a soft spot for Clio II's. Unfortunately this one is a bit too far for me. :(

It's SMOL and French. It thrives off neglect. SMOL French cars get a perverse pleasure from it.

It'll be fine, modern renaults are happier being neglected I think! Who knows when my gooner last saw fresh oil? Who knows when it will either!

Oh there is this by the way, but apparently it's normal for these.

Fly up.

Buy FOAD's transhite.

Collect Cilo.

Drive home.

Sell transhite for profit to cover cost of trip.

Isn't this close enough to 320touring for him to try and get 120mpg out of then make GLF somehow? Or is it not VAG enough?

If it's just done lots of short trips then that could cause the coffee coloured oil. Budget for a oil change and filter and it probably be a cheap car.

By the look of the stale dribble of piss in my Megane's sump when I got it plus the air filter element that looked like a birds nest, I'd say mine hadn't been serviced in at least 3 years.

After a good service it still drives fine 5k later so the new owner may get away with it on this one.

This will be the 1.2 8v 60bhp engine. Literally base, poverty spec. Highly unlikely anything electrical is really broken, because it hardly has anything electrical!

It does a bit of both. Takes the dogs out for their morning walk which is about 3 miles from home then 70 miles to my dads work.

I did the filter and plugs in this Clio a few weeks ago and likewise they looked liked they hadn't been changed in a very long time.

Only someone on here would actually want an automatic Renault.

Can this replace the existing strapline? Belter!

Anyone up for relaying this Northwards/storing it somewhere for a bit? Just had a message from an interested party in the Cairngorms National Park area who doesn't have time to collect at the moment.

Provisionally sold (believe it or not).

That looks a bargain and I have a low mileage engine available for £50.

I was about to say apart from a luxury one like a Safrane, but...

I dunno, my mother's is a year older and only ever does short trips, and the underside of the oil cap is black 'n' shiny. It's much lower mileage, mind you.

But in my experience RENNO + MAYO = HEADGASKET FAILO

It's been doing it since we bought it I'm sure.
