The Associated MASSIVs Do Cannock Auctions 15/7/2017

Greetings Peoples.

To commemorate the amalgamation of The Association of Associated MASSIVs (Midlands and Scotoshite Volvo varieties), we shall be doing the Cannock auctions on Saturday 15th July with the obligatory stop over on the 14th of the Scottish folk so no doubt there will likely be a dinner opportunity on the Friday evening.

Usual fare will ensue - 0930 at the trucker's rest cafe, A5, Cannock on the Saturday morning for a ridiculously large breakfast then round to the auctions for much hilarity. Ideas for post-auction activities are always welcome.

Who's in?

EDIT

Looks like post-auction activities will be a visit to the Midlands Air Museum in Coventry approx 50 mins drive from Cannock for those brave enough.

Doesn't seem to be anything in my calendar for that day...

I shall see if I can make it if it's for this year, I should be fresh from Turkey. However, if it's for 2 years ago on the 15/7/2015 as you have put in the thread it might be a bit difficult unless we can lay our hands on a DeLorean DMC-12 with time-machine capabilities.

Don't see why not. Also it looks like I am the only Scottish delegate to be attending. This makes me sad. I'm still coming though - the hotel is booked.

I enjoyed this the last time, even though I only popped in for breakfast.

Put me down for another.

Looks like I'll be joining the crowd.

For post Cannock entertainment, how long are people about for?

It wouldn't be difficult to arrange a basic treasure hunt, of the take a digital photo of x in village y variety.

Ideas for things to do after the auctions...

Is the Midlands Air Museum in Coventry worth a visit?

Posted

The jet museum at Coventry is well worth the trip, just be aware that it will take 50mins to get to from Cannock. http://www.midlandairmuseum.co.uk/

After Cannock auctions you will have about 3 hours there (from 2 to 5) and that will be just about right.

I think that the Electric train place next door is only open on limited days.

Yeah it's only open certain days and it's the weekend before we are meeting for Cannock. Buggerations. But aye if the air museum worth the visit should we make that the afternoon activity then?

I'm only coming along to shoot myself up in the toilets with raw Lorne sausage.
