Mgf 1.8vvc

MOT November 2017

A really quick clean example of an MGF.

Good bits

Second engine fitted last year by specialist with receipts

Black leather interior

Full set of Toyo proxes T1R

Tapian Cold Air feed

Scorpion Exhaust

52mm Throttle Body

Front Splitter

Hard top

Tonneau cover

Air deflector

Seat lowering springs fitted

Remote central locking with alarm

Coolant sensor fitted (although not been tested)

Stacks of service history and receipts including original purchase sheet

Bad bits

Vvc is noisy but nothing is wrong with it

Radio needs a code

Some stitching has come undone on passenger seat

Rear light is cracked

Heater is stuck on hot

I bought this to use as track car but can't get reasonable insurance due to starlet being nicked plus this being modified.

Located in Accrington although maybe able to deliver if pay for train ticket home.

£555 of which 10% will be donated to forum.

With the mods it should see 60 in under 7 seconds. A third gear launch on to motorway certainly is exciting.

Absolutely gutted I can't keep it as it is everything I have wanted.

Did someone say raffle. That's not really buying a car is it ?

28 & 44 if you do go down that route.

Will try to sell it first - going to do proper advert and stick it on eBay for more money over the weekend. But thought would give you lot first dibs.

Shame this has to go.

Lowering springs for seats? never heard of that before, but it is something these really needed. I bet they made it much nicer to drive.

The seat base attached by metal bars. These can be replaced by springs which allows seat to be more springy.

Mainly changed because my co driver is 6ft 4 so extra headroom was needed.

VRS- I am intrigued. I should get money really but let me know details :-)

Incoming :)

There's lots of room in a VRS....  ;-)

There is indeed :)

No chance of you selling it on for what you bought it for on here a couple of weeks back?

I'd be interested if so, missed out by a baw hair the last time.

Fucking tempting but no space. Anywhere.

^^ unless anyone wants a cheap Mk3 Golf.

Sadly not. Cost me a few quid to transport plus spent £150 in mean time.

Will be putting it up outside of here for many more pounds (with still donation to kitty)

Does anyone want a golf :-)

Really interested as my daily MGF got written off a couple of weeks ago when I was rear ended ( by that I mean someone hit the back of my car, not that it was vandalised whilst I was being reare ended - blimey, not with my back ! ). Anyway I would not want the hard top and so would you be interested in selling the MG to me without it as I know from experience you can get at least £200 on eBay for a hard top.

Let me know ASAP if you are interested.

RAFFLE!

Selling without hard top isn't my preferred choice, but make me an offer by PM if want.

Now on ebay as well at different price. 10% of whatever I get will be lobbed in AS pot .

Will, have you tried the usual classic insurers for a sensible quote?

Posted

Yep. Tried FJ, Peter Best, A Plan, Lancaster and Heritage.

It's only because I have two at fault claims in two year plus this is modified. Missus Moog can get insurance for £400 .

That's a shame.

I can't remember how much Thai you know, but 555 is an appropriate price for this motor, it must be a right hoot.

"555" is used in place of "LOL" in Thailand, it sounds like "hahaha".

I'd love to try an MGF sometime, having had an MR2, and our MX5. I fear I'd have my bollox chopped off if I swapped the latter for this.

Three out of three cars on the road in dark green? I don't fancy that. Wrap it yellow for us, and I'd have a case! :D

Joe, this car gives MEGA555Z. After taking it from Devon to Accrington I was disappointed to have to get out. In fact I may have done an extra lap of Accrington before finally delivering it, but don't tell Will.

It definitely is a lovely bit of kit. Puma doesn't feel anywhere near as good.

I think they are good looking cars as well.

Mr Bucket didn't even get to have a full drive with the wind over his scalp
