Is that one of they wee battery booster things?...My Dad was just talking about these things, He had a FTP in his Lorry (Iveco...Shite) & when the Iveco fitter arrived, he got one of these things out (my Dad said it was like it was in a wee laptop bag?) connected it up & the lorry fired straight up. My Dad was pretty amazed.

So if it is, where do you get such a device? As that would come in handy. Also.....Good luck with the collection.

We did indeed after taking 4h 50 mins to do a 3h 50 min journey. Gotta love the m6:(

Any clues?

What is that device ? Like an OBD Reader ?

FTP ??

No FTPS, its a jump startpack:)

so if its not a volvo???

rescind scottishness immed.

end.

It has 5 cyls so could be a Volvo..

Tebay was achieved for traditional reasons..

Thereafter all of the world's traffic descended on the m6. Fuel light can on with 30miles to go, so I decided to cut off the motorway through the scenic* delights of the A49 and Warrington.

This kept me moving and got me to the holy grail eventually

After much pleasantry and a swift test drive, I set about feeding the beast.

Please accept the "post fuelling" picture as the station was jumping, so thought better of grabbing a pic there and then.

Gutty was applied in moderation* and the 245 miles north were dispatched in comfort and at pace.

APPROVED VEHICLE.

Nice colour also. I hope it comes with the sills + floors option.

Wood recommend looking underneath for flaky underseal and applying vactan etc if present.

Tomorrow shall be a perusal day weather permitting:)

I know one front wing is a bit sketchy, but the sills don't look much worse than the fabia was..

I'd forgotten so much about Alfa ownership..

Replacement drivers door window pod won't work as its facelift, so I'll need to get another. Drivers window works OK though.

Radio Cavcraft kindly supplied works spot on, and plays choonz from the phone nae border! Its also getting a feed from a permanent live, rather than a switched one.post-17572-0-74092400-1496496205_thumb.jpg

Oh, and the car has 3x 205/60/15 tyres, one 195/65/15 tyre and the spare is a 195/55/15.

Time to get a part worn fitted I think

Snap M8, mine came with 2 x 205/55/16s on the left and 2 x 205/50/16s on the right. Drove surprisingly well considering.

Really re: tyre sizes?? Never bloody noticed :(

Didn't hurt the handling lol.

Different switch? Cunting ebay twat!!!! Still, you should be able to flog it.

The sills were literally just surface rust, the wing bottom (passenger side) is the worst bit. The tidemark was not my doing.

Looking online, the 195/65s are mondo much cheaper than 205/60s they are also just about within 2.5% of the original tyres, so shouldn't be a problem until I decide re what to do.

Yeah different switch- I thought as much as the facelift one has a wee picture of a window on the lock button. They sell well on eBay so can do that and get another:)

I'm planning to sort the sills- either original colour or stonechip.

Got the interior tied out and something to do after lunch that lord sterling will appreciate

After the debacle of the window switch,

post-17572-0-27821400-1496517398_thumb.jpg

And the "always on" radio.. (Apparently sorted by swapping switched and perm live, or taking the feed from the cigarette lighter

I turned my attention to getting the interior inhabitable.. With a thorough scrub down of seats, plastics, wheels and knobs.

After a fair bit of scrubbing we had it servicable, next up was to behold the magnificence of the 2.4 JTD

Tightened up the bolt furthest to the right here.

Then took it for a blat to a garage hoover before fitting Gen u wine mats out of the last one I had (found whilst tidying the shed)

Mild progress.

Umm, just remembered. I may have overly hastily not entirely fitted the rear seat base properly.
