As I am now with roadworthy car, I am getting driven round a lot by the missus, so it gives me a chance to photo a big load of shite on the roads.

Today, we went to Betsw-y-coed area and spent about 10 hours driving. Unfortunately, she drives far too fast, and I need ultra-fast responses to catch anything of any worth!

Diesel Maestro Clubman:

And the most inconsistantly 'standard' designed car through it's lifetime award goes to!

It's another!! With a Mazda Bongo/Friendee!

The Welsh like to carve up mountains and put huge, elaborate and expansive iron structures on the side. This is owned by Cemex and I believe there is some kind of quarry on the other side. Rock comes down the conveyor belt system, under the road and onto a platform on the other side in the sea, which then deposits into waiting ships. This happens at all hours:

I was expecting some kind of behemoth air balloon when I saw this in the distance, but realised it was dead close and was in fact tiny!

Choo-choo!!! Steam train runs alongside A55.

Taking my shite legs for a test drive, capturing a rrright motley crew of crap, subject to poor lighting conditions. Discovering a lot of cars I've never seen before.

This fellow likes he Jags/Rovers:

New MG with red supercharged Jag behind it, with a blue Rover P5 behind it under tarp:

Pleasant VW camper van complete with flower decals, this has been in daily use for years:

All still in use:

Plagued with possibility of shooting challenged by people standing round - don't want to look suspicious. Tonight three youths were skateboarding in the road in front of the house! :x Walked past the house three times, hence crappy, dark photo - can you guess what it is? House was how it was in the 60's. Net curtains, iron gates, wooden window frames, period green/blue lead based Dulux. All tyres flat, algae stained, dust/mud formed up around the wheels, etc.

Will get a better photo tommorow!

Pretty wild stab in the dark on the mystery car - Porsche 924?

Thanks for putting these up, at least we know what they are. I do like a nice Jag XJ6, doubt I'll get tot he stage of owning/driving one though the way things are (not) going.

I always use stealth mode. I get the camera mode on phone ready whilst in my pocket, slow down and shoot while pretending to read a text message. Dont point the camera/phone too obviously toward the target.

Also try and work the time the camera will grab and save the pic. I had a Nokia phone that would appear to grab a good pic, only to show it grabbed a few too many seconds later and come out blurry because I moved my hand.

Oh yes... the A55! What a great road! We are going to that area in a couple of weeks. You cant beat it!

I was down that way a few weeks ago, the A55 seemed to be plagued with drivers who didn't know how to pull in from the outside lane.

The stretch with the tunnels going west and the twisties clinging to the coastline east is marvellous though.

I went on a random drive a few years ago and couldn't believe how satisfyingly long it was and picturesque. There's not many place where you can drive through mountain valleys and have the sea in view at the same time.

On Tuesday, Merseyside emergency services held a training session in an earthquake situation. They used an unused entrance to one of the Mersey tunnels.

Hmm, Orion, Renault 5, Toyota Corolla... (if this is the pic I think it is!). I always wondered if any of those old entrances were still accessible, seems they are if you have the key (ie blues and twos).

There is one tunnel down that way that has a garage at the entrance. Apparently the garage owner is happy to let people go in for a look as long as they're back before closing time. There are all sorts of interesting cars stored in it.

Have a few more, but mobile dongle is a nightmare to upload!

French Microcar thingy:

There's a lot of these Talbot vans about in camper form:

P1020895.jpg

There's probably too many of these - it must be brown trouser time everytime most of these go through an MOT:

P1020894.jpg

This is literally round the corner from me - I'm going to apply a 'selling this?' (to be duly torn up) piece of paper when my car finally sells! Surely one of the top ten abandoned projects - too much rust, too good to scrap:

P1020893.jpg

Long sitting Fiesta with silver sprayed arches, flat, green tyres, and missing number plate:

P1020892.jpg

A proper driveway of rubbish - a definite top five of most abandoned projects:

P1020890.jpg

At the front we have a Lotus Excel/Eclat - not sure if it's a runner, not seen it about at all, seeing as it's round the corner from the MR2. ANOTHER mk1 MR2 in white. And a Reliant Scimitar in front. With those two last ones, I'd say the Lotus was SORN as well, but the bin arrangement says it's a daily. Looks in excellent condition though.

I love my parrots:

This is the oldest car within range to my house:

Nice photos - was there a fix for the photos going under the sidebar? I get a great view on empty drives, palm trees and knocking shop entrances unless I view each image individually.

Aye, 'View' option shows the lot.

In this pic is my Godparent's blue Cortina KLG 642Y, which they kept for a while. The orange Beetle is my Uncle's I think. This was my Holy Communion in 1984.

Had a crazy day today, spotted a Wolseley 1800 (I think they're called?), a H-reg Accord, a C-reg Maestro, a mk1 Prelude, and then a H-reg Honda Legend in the space of an hour. All driven by 60+ gentlemen.

Not seen any from this era before?
