Just saw this on Hot UK Deals and purchased one.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01N7FGBFS/?tag=ho01f-21

You need code for a discount down to £7.50 (JLDKJ3AT) and also need to be a prime member to get free delivery or its an extra £3.50 on top.

It seems to have good reviews as well.

Probably never going to use it (other than just randomly taking temp readings of rad pipes :) ) but I like my gadgets.....

Thought it might be useful to someone.....

Ooh...might do, cheers. V useful for turbo boost calculations, is knowledge of various temps...

These are surprisingly useful to have.....scan it back n forth, up n down on your rad to look for cold spots..... check all hoses are getting to the same temp indicating reduced flow somewhere....even around the house, check your heating system hasnt got blockages or air locks.....look for heat loss on the outside of your house in winter.....check your girlfriends minge temperature is acceptable before entering....stuff like that.

Knew there was a reason I purchased.......

..... But with a large, soft cock instead of the hand?

They're useful, but I think much more for relative measurements than absolute.  All the examples above are relative, such as cold spots and cool parts of rads, where you are scanning an even surface.  If you go across different materials and colours and surface finishes, I've found that the results can go all over the place.

That price has to be worth it though.  I think I got mine in Lidl and it was more than that.  A bit.

I have one of these, very good thing. Mine was from Aldi, but it's clearly the same one.

Top tip: turn the laser off before pointing it at your kettle if your kettle has a shiny metal finish, or the laser will go in your eye and you will feel stupid having almost lost your eyesight while trying to find out what temperature water boils at.

Is this only for the t-04? Can you use the discount code on the T-05?

discount code dont work with t-04 or t-05

Posted

...one duly ordered naturally

I'd read the stuff at the top of the listing wrong. Anyway ordered now!

I used one of these a couple of years ago to fault find a car heater.  I borrowed it from work and I'm sure it cost about 3 grand.

I haven't needed one before or since but have ordered one now because.... just because.

Yeah these are dead useful, see:

You can also aim them at dogs heads, your bathwater, the wall in the living room before and after you fit insulation. The radiators in the house (very useful actually for balancing the system) the cold depths of space etc etc.

I have no idea what I will use this for, but have bought one.

No doubt once I have it I'll wonder how I lived without it

Thank you Autoshiter.

I have ordered one of these and intend to use it on trains, to point at random commuters and note their temperatures down on an official-looking pad.

Make sure you point the dot on their foreheads, its the most accurate place.

I'm not a prime member (although the wife may disagree with me on that!!) but got free delivery by using the 1 day delivery option on the page where you have the option to join (I didn't)

Ahh it appears that the scamming Amazon fuckpigs have signed me up for Prime after all - despite ticking the no box.

will be offskiing as soon as delivery takes place!! (have set a reminder in my outlook calendar

Arrived this morning at about 11. So far I've tested the temperature of all the walls, the floor, a cup of tea and some lego.

Works very well! Will post a picture of the wife's minge temperature later!
