I remember my dad's ESRT32PS used to get all hot and chew the tapes, but I'm sure they didn't all do that. It eventually got Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass stuck in it, so we listened to that for about two years. That said, my dad was a bit of a Luddite when it came to new fangled electronically controlled quadraphonic stereos with a joystick (if there is such a thing!!), since he managed to get Elton John's Greatest hits stuck in the head unit in his Jag.

Fuck! Skizzer, you NEED this one.

Me? But I'm not the one that cares about the stereo, and that Mr Junkman is coming to take Granny away from me. The wood effect is rather special though, I must admit.

The Junkmans coming to get it is he! Hope he likes it. It's proving to be a well travelled car recently.

I'm very happy to keep it - it's currently my main squeeze - but he's threatening he has a plan. Meanwhile the Breadman is angling to have it back as well. It's a popular car, this.

Of course it's popular, it's bloody awesome! I still miss having it! That said, I'm glad you guys have it, it's great to know it's being used and loved.

Junkmans got a plan then? I'm intrigued...

The words "Junkman's got a plan" are wont to have me reaching for either a revolver or a one way ticket to Ulan Bator.

...or a one way ticket to Ulan Bator.

For whom...?

I'll roffle it on here.  On second thoughts, maybe we should buy a fucked old bus off eBay and with luck we could all get the Hell out of Dodge before Junkman's plan comes together.

Worry not, one major component of said plan already fell through.

Snafu, as usual, prevails.

OK, let us know when snafu escalates to fubar.

Meanwhile, the Granada has been doing more estate car duties, taking Mrs Skizzer's bicycle to our friendly local bike shop for a service:

The boot is ENORMOUS.

We also went to the local branch of Machine Mart. The guys in the Swansea branch are always very friendly and helpful, but were particularly struck with the Granny.

Just in case anyone thought I'd fallen out of love with the Granada.

I had one of those around 28 years ago , I'm so old! It was lovely, had a RS body kit and 7 spoke RS alloys. Photos in loft so you'll have to take my word for it lol.

One's too many, ten's not enough!

It's been added on afterwards, probably using Letraset (if anyone else remembers such things). Most likely the photographed car was on a S plate and they wanted to update it; another favourite was LHD cars with the image reversed to make them RHD, but I don't think that's the case here because the Ford badge doesn't look retouched and the house looks English.

Fun* fact.

Whenever a Ford car is represented driving in an advert, they always use registrations that are dateless, not country specific, and contain only reversible characters like X, V, 8, 0 etc. That makes it easier to flip LHD to RHD for exterior shots.

I thought all Fords were POO cars until I discovered the Mk2 Granada.

That reminds me of Viz Comic's brown ale pissed-up superhero "The Brown Bottle" -

"Yuh fuh, yuh bah, yuh fuh..." etc.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say this was a collection thread.
